New-style North East Wales Women’s Football League gets ready to launch

Airbus UK Broughton women will be among the members of the new North East Wales League in 2025-26

Eight teams will compete in the newly-restructured tier 3 North East Wales Women’s Football League this season.

A six-team Development League has also been formed.

For the past two seasons, the North East Wales League has also included under its banner teams from the North Wales Coast, comprising an East and West Division.

It is believed the Coast will launch their own separate ;league in 2025-26.

The eight teams in the new-look tier 3 North East Wales League are:

Wrexham Foresters
Northop Hall
Coedpoeth
Airbus UK Broughton
Buckley Town
TNS Under-19s
Wrexham AFC Under-19s
Connah’s Quay Nomads Under-19s

Confirmed for the Development League are

Mynydd isa
Coedpoeth Development
CPD Cei Connah
Hawarden Park
Northop Hall Development
Saltney

Although the North East Wales League and the North Wales Coast are going their separate ways, it is hoped both associations can remain involved in the Betty Pickering Cup.
