New manager appointed at Llandyrnog United

Llandyrnog United recently appointed a new manager for the 2025-26 season.

He is Sion Morris, who replaces Stephen Jones as boss of the tier 4 Vale of Clwyd village outfit.

Jones and the club committee did an admirable job last season keeping Dyrny going in the North Wales Coast East Premier, where they eventually finished one off the bottom.

A familiar face at Cae Nant, Morris has already been hard at work in preparation for the season ahead.
He said: “It’s great to be back at Dyrny and I can’t wait to get going. I’d like to thank Stephen Jones for miraculously keeping the club going last season along with other members of the committee.

“This season isn’t about wholesale changes, it’s about building on what we’ve got with a few additions in key areas which we are already looking to address.

“Stepping up to be assistant manager will be Neil Brown and he was great to have around the club in my previous time I was here. Brownie shows great passion for the club and football and is looking forward to a slight change in roles for this season.

“Fully committed for the season ahead, Adam Harvey will also be working alongside us as player/coach whilst we find another member to join the coaching team. Adam’s quality will be a real asset to the team and he will be a big influence on and off the pitch in what we hope to be a promising season.”

Club chairman Nick Hailes added: “Great to have Sion, Brownie and Adam on board for the season in what will be our 50th year celebration.

“They bring with them footballing knowledge and coaching skills to take this group of lads forward.

“Having spoken to them they see where Llandyrnog should be and have a desire to help us get back there. It’s going to be tough but as a club together we will support each other and make sure we get the job done”

  • Llandyrnog United will host an open training session on Friday, 20th June at Cae Nant with a 6:30pm start.
