Dylan Proctor is staying at CPD Y Rhyl 1879!
The club announced on Monday the 21-year-old striker was leaving the Ardal North West champions as a new deal could not be agreed.
Proctor insisted, however, he wanted to stay at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium and after further discussions the matter has now been resolved.
The young talent netted 31 goals in 28 games during his debut season with 1879 and finished ANW top-scorer on 28.
The Lilywhites released the following statement earlier today: “We’re delighted to share the news that Dylan Proctor has now agreed terms with CPD Y Rhyl 1879 for the 2025/26 season!
“Following negotiations with Lilywhites manager Paul Moore over the last 24 hours an agreement has been reached for Dylan to remain at the Hops & Barley Community Stadium as we embark on life in tier 2.
“This is fantastic news for everyone connected to the club and we look forward to seeing Dylan back on the pitch in our first pre-season friendly Tuesday 24th June against Penmaenmawr Phoenix.”
Proctor himself apologised to 1879 supporters over the disruption of the past 48 hours.
He said: “I just want to take a moment to apologise for all the recent drama. I know it’s been messy, and I take full responsibility for my part in it.
“I made mistakes, and I’m learning from them. I have also apologised to Paul Moore for what I have put him through, I am sorry.
“Thank you to everyone who’s stuck by me. I’m committed to moving forward with more honesty, with more accountability, and more respect.”
The news that Proctor is staying at Rhyl has understandably been met with widespread delight by the club’s supporters on social media.
