Hotshot Harrison returns to club where he made his name in North Wales football
North Wales senior football’s top goalscorer in 2023-24 is back with the club where he made his name.
Harrison Bellis has rejoined Tier 4 club CPD Y Glannau, where he scored 130 goals across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Last season, Bellis, 23, tested his skills at a higher level, firstly joining Tier 2 Cymru North club Denbigh Town at the start of 2024-25.
The striker netted a late decider in a memorable 4-3 win at Bangor 1876 and struck twice in a 4-2 Welsh Cup success over Llangefni Town, but overall made just 13 appearances for the Central Park side, all as a substitute, scoring three times.
He also pocketed a hat-trick in a brilliant 5-4 triumph for Denbigh Town Reserves at Connah’s Quay Nomads Under-18s.
Bellis switched to Tier 3 NFA of Rhyl in December last year, scoring on debut in a 2-2 draw at Pwllheli.
However, most of his outings for the club were again from the bench. He made 12 first team appearances in all scoring five goals, and netted once in two games for the Under-23s.
When Bellis was previously with Y Glannau, they were a Tier 5 team, however the St Asaph based side were promoted to the T4 North Wales Coast East Premier last season and finished an excellent fourth, having led the table for several months.
No doubt the return of Bellis will boost the club’s chances of doing even better in 2025-26.
Bellis was previously a huge success at Y Glannau where over three seasons he scored a remarkable 144 goals in 71 matches.
In 2022-23, he netted 62 times, then last season he was North Wales football’s top-scorer with 68.
