Check out the revised Ynys Môn women’s football squad for 2025 Island Games

The latest Ynys Môn women’s football squad for the 2025 Orkney International Island Games shows four changes from the original group of players announced last October.

Llangefni Town’s Beth Jones, Ceri Slaney and Catrin Roberts join the party, along with Wales Under-19 international Casi Evans.

They replace striker Jess Jones, who is recovering from knee surgery, Nia Ginnelly and Catrin Evans, while goalkeeper Lucy Richardson has also withdrawn.

GOALKEEPERS

Catrin Roberts (CPD Merched Bangor)

Aged just 16, Catrin joined Bangor this season and made 22 first team appearances.
Wales Under-16 international who represented the FAW Girls Academy North squad last season.

DEFENDERS

Marissa George (Llangefni Town)

Consistent defender who joined Llangefni in 2022-23 and has made 77 appearances for the club. Won the Betty Pickering Cup with Cefni in 2023-24 and has been an important member of the squad which has finished back-to-back runners-up in the North East Wales Women’s League West Division. Was in the 2023 Island Games squad for Guernsey.

Carol Lewis (CPDM Bangor)

Veteran set to compete in her fifth island games. She was a key defender when Ynys Môn won silver at the 2019 Inter-Games.
Spent all of her career at Amlwch Town before stepping up to tier 2 with CPDM Bangor this season. A natural leader, inspirational and never gives anything less than 100% – strong in the air and in the tackle.

Erin Burns (CPDM Bangor)

Rock-solid 17-year-old defender who made her debut for CPDM Bangor senior team at the start of 2023-24 and has 43 appearances under her belt.
Formerly with Dreigiau Llanfairpwll.

Mared Roberts (Llangefni Town)

In her third season with Llangefni. Strong defender who has made 70 appearances for the islanders.
Joined the club in 2022-23 and has been a key performer in their rise to success, winning the Betty Pickering Cup in 2023-24 and finishing North East Wales League West Division runners-up for the past two seasons.

Beth Jones (Llangefni Town)

Great addition. Hard working, committed defender who has spent the last two seasons at Llangefni, making 39 appearances for the club.
Prior to that, Beth was in the Amlwch Town squad which won the North Wales League Division Two title in 2019.
She also featured for Bangor City, plus Caernarfon Town in the Welsh Premier League, and was in the Ynys Môn squad which reached the Inter-Games final in 2019.

MIDFIELDERS

Ashleigh Jones (CPDM Bangor)

Joined Bangor this season and her experience and goals proved vital to the Genero Adran North side, scoring seven times in 22 outings.
A standout player at the last Island Games for Ynys Môn, she previously played senior football for Trearddur Bay and Amlwch Town.

Cerys Macdonald (CPDM Bangor)

Twin of Seren, Cerys has just completed her second season as a Bangor senior player and has made 36 appearances for the senior side, scoring five goals.
Another former member of the successful Dreigiau Llanfairpwll side.

Seren Macdonald (CPDM Bangor)

Former Dreigiau Llanfairpwll star who has been a regular with the CPDM Bangor senior side since the start of last season.
Aged just 17 and with bags of potential, she has played in 37 league and cup matches for Bangor, netting three times.

Mia Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Gifted midfielder who broke into the Bangor first team in 2021-22 and has been a regular apart from spending a brief time at Amlwch last season.
Made her mark in the great Penrhyn Bay sides which reached back-to-back FAW Under-16 Welsh Cup Finals.
Mia played in the 2023 Games for Ynys Môn and made the scoresheet.
Has made 69 first team appearances for Bangor women, notching 22 goals.

Charlotte Madden (Huddersfield Town)

Midfielder who plays for Huddersfield Town in the English pyramid.
Selected to represent Ynys Môn for a fourth time at the Island Games.
Playmaker who can score great goals. Netted for Anglesey in the 2017 Games.
Started her career with Tranmere Rovers at under-14 and remained at the club for five years. She then joined Blackpool Ladies for three years before moving to Liverpool Feds, Guiseley Vixens and latterly Huddersfield.

Yasmin Wilcox (Pontypridd United)

Just 18, gifted Yasmin played for Pontypridd in the Adran Premier in 2023-24 and this term represented the club in the tier 2 Genero Adran South and at youth level. She was part of the squad which won promotion back to the Premier for 2025-26.
As a junior, she shone for Dreigiau Llanfairpwll and Caernarfon Town before making the step up to senior football with Trearddur Bay in 2022-23.

Casi Evans (Blackburn Rovers)

Amlwch girl who played for Everton and FAW Academy North prior to being on dual registration for Blackburn Rovers and Halifax this season.
Represented Wales up to under-17 level, featuring at the 2022 Concacaf Girls’ Under-15 Championship, before stepping up to the Wales Under-19 side which competed at the UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship against Serbia, Republic of Ireland and France.

Ceri Slaney (Llangefni Town)

Experienced right-sided attacker whose former clubs include Caernarfon Town, Amlwch Town, Llandudno, CPDM Y Felinheli and Llanfairfechan Town.
She joined Llangefni at the start of 2024-25 and made 20 appearances, scoring six goals.
Won the 2021-22 Genero Adran North tirle with Llandudno and the North Wales Women’s League champions with Caernarfon, among other honours.
Was also in the 2019 Ynys Môn team which won a silver medal at the one-off Inter-Games football tournament.

Catrin Roberts (Llangefni Town)

One of the most improved players in North Wales women’s football having developed into a standout player at Llangefni.
Has been a Cefni regular since the team reformed in 2021-22, having made 75 appearances and scored 20 goals.
Industrious midfielder who can also play at the back. Captained Llangefni this season.

ATTACKERS

Menna Evans (CPD Merched Bangor)

The fact she was tier 2 Genero Adran North Young Player of the Season in 2023-24 says plenty about this 18-year-old.
Has made 42 appearances for Bangor’s first team and knocked in 21 goals. Dynamic on the ball and pacy with the ability to take on defenders at will, she is truly one to watch in Orkney.

Hannah Owen (Llangefni Town)

Left or right winger, has notched 21 goals in 87 appearances for Llangefni going back to 2021-22
Won joint Most Improved Player award for Cefni in 2022-23.
Has been chosen to represent Ynys Môn for the second successive Island Games.

Ellie Jones (CPDM Y Felinheli)

Attacking wide player who started off with Llangefni Girls, then began her senior career with Bethel of the tier 2 Adran North before switching to Amlwch in 2021-22.
After two seasons at Lon Bach, she returned to Bethel (now CPDM Y Felinheli) this term and recently lifted the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup with the team.
Has a great goalscoring record as a senior player – 38 goals in 70 appearances.
Played and scored for Ynys Mon at last Island Games.
