Let’s celebrate the 2024-25 Dynamic Dozen – how did they fare?

Earlier in the season, we chose 12 players to watch in North Wales senior football during 2024-25.

Here, we assess how they performed over the season.

Richard Hillier-Evans (Rhos United)

The perfect season for the Pink Panther!
Won the North Wales Coast East Division One title and REM Jones Cup double with Rhos United, having done exactly the same with Bow FC the season before.
Both Rhos and Bow won their championships as undefeated invincibles.
Conceded just 19 goals in 24 league games and kept 14 clean sheets.
Also scored a goal with a kick out of his hands from his own penalty area.

James Stevens (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Began the season well under Gareth Thomas, but after Paul Moore took over as Lilywhites boss in November, Stevens’ appearances were restricted to the subs’ bench.
Featured in 27 matches over the season and was part of an Ardal North West title-winning squad.
Talented 19-year-old definitely worth persevering with for the future.

Mason Blackwell-Jones (Bangor 1876)

A nightmare final few weeks of the season saw Bangor 1876 relegated back to Tier 3, but over the campaign as a whole, Mason was certainly one of the better performers.
Was 1876’s second highest goalscorer in the Cymru North with nine goals from 26 appearances – only Corrig McGonigle netted more (11).
Dynamic, hard-working player who should shine in the third-tier next season.

Jenson Wold (Bow FC)

Scored eight goals in 19 games for Bow’s Development League side, but also had some opportunities to shine for the first team in North Wales Coast East Premier.
At just 18, he has time on his side and good things are expected of him, Has definitely delivered plenty of positives over the season.

Jacob Jones (Kinmel Bay)

Brilliant season for this 20-year-old attacking player who has come on in leaps and bounds.
Scored 27 goals in 18 league and cup matches for Kinmel Bay’s Development side, but also made his mark for the firsts, netting six times in 14 matches.
One to watch in 2025-26.

Pascal Gomez (Connah’s Quay Town)

Top scorer for Connah’s Quay Town in their first season as a Tier 3 Ardal North West team, notching 10 goals.
Helped his side finish in a really impressive eighth place in the ANW and also contributed some vital goals in the FAW Amateur Trophy.

Andy Vale (Brickfield Rangers)

What a season for this highly consistent goalscorer, who finished fifth in the Ardal North East chart with 22 goals in 28 games.
Played a big role in Brickfield first team landing their first-ever league title and earning promotion to the Tier 2 Cymru North.
Bagged a magnificent 35 goals in 39 outings in all competitions.

Elis Williams (CPD Y Felinheli)

This 18-year-old prospect began the season superbly, netting hat-tricks against Greenfield in the FAW Trophy, as well as versus Nantlle Vale and Conwy Borough in the league.
From November onwards, he mainly featured as a substitute, but his overall record in 2024-25 of 15 goals in 22 matches across all competitions and pocketing 10 in 19 Ardal North West outings is still very good.
Will look to recapture that early season form in 2025-26.

Owen Herbert (NFA)

Tremendous effort from an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who featured in all but one of NFA’s 30 matches in their debut Ardal North West season, the club finishing a very impressive seventh.
Scored three first team goals, plus four in seven matches for the reserves in the FAW Reserve League North East. Deserves high praise.

Ryan Jakovlevs (FC Queen’s Park)

A shining light in a Queen’s Park side which lifted the Horace Wynne Cup for a third time in four seasons.
Netted 10 goals in 16 first team appearances and at just 18 has many exciting years ahead of him.
Moved to the Park in November from disbanded Plas Madoc, where he was a goal machine, and scored three on debut for FCQ against Deeside Dragons in the Horace Wynne.

Noa Hughes (Bethesda Athletic)

Sadly out injured since January.
Even having missed half the season, Noa was a major success with 26 goals in 23 appearances for Bethesda..
Aged just 19, he has notched 53 goals in 115 matches for Pesda, who recently clinched the North Wales Coast West Premier Division title.

Calum Thomas (CPD Gaerwen)

Eighteen-year-old dazzler scored a magnificent 28 goals in 29 appearances over the season for Gaerwen.
Finished up second-highest marksman in North Wales Coast West Division One, his 22 league goals just one behind Tomos Williams of Llanfairpwll.
Being the grandson of Llangefni Town and Llanfairpwll great Ali Jones, Calum comes from quality football stock.
Ended the season on fire with 10 goals in his last nine matches.
