Four Bangor 1876 players and three from Trearddur Bay make up almost half the 16-strong Ynys Môn men’s football squad to compete in the 2025 Island Games in Orkney.
Just seven of the 19 players which represented the Welsh island in 2023 are in the latest group selected, which leans strongly towards youth.
Beaten finalists in Guernsey two years ago, Anglesey are seeded for this summer’s tournament having been drawn in a group with Menorca, Western Isles and Bermuda.
Manager of the men’s squad is the experienced Martin Jones, who has been in charge at previous Island Games and is also former boss of Gwalchmai and Bro Goronwy, Gerwyn Roberts is player-coach and Gareth Aled Jones goalkeeping coach.
The Orkney Island Games are scheduled to take place between July 12-18.

Vastly experienced keeper who was one of the main heroes of Ynys Môn’s run to the 2023 final with his remarkable penalty saves.
Clubs on his CV include Bangor 1876, Holyhead Hotspur, Prestatyn Town, Bodedern Athletic and Trearddur Bay.
Attacking right-back who has spent the past two seasons with Bangor 1876 and before that represented Caernarfon Town in the CymU Premier.
Has also worn the colours of Llangefni Town and Holyhead Hotspur in the Cymru North.
Youngster who developed his talents with Amlwch Town Juniors before joining Llandudno last season where he played for both the first team and double-winning reserve side.
Powerful central defender who emerged through the youth ranks at Caernarfon Town before moving this season to Trearddur Bay, where he has impressed for both the first team and development side.
Made his mark at Bodedern Athletic in their tier 4 title-winning 2021-22 season before spells with Trearddur Bay, Holyhead Town and CPD Boded.
Rejoined Trearddur Bay in January 2024 and became a crucial performer for the first team as well as a standout on occasion with the development.
Progressed through Caernarfon Town’s youth system before making first team debut as a substitute against The New Saints in January 2022.
Shone for the Canaries’ development team in 2022-23 and over the next two seasons gained more game time with the firsts before signing for Llangefni Town at the start of 2024-25.
Has been a Porthmadog player since March.
Loyal Holyhead Hotspur midfielder who has made almost 100 first team appearances since 2019-20.
Highly-regarded young talent who will relish the opportunity to shine at an Island Games.
Regular for Porthmadog at tier 2 and 3 levels over the past two seasons having previously been part of the Caernarfon Town set-up where his first team appearances were mainly restricted to the bench, but was an excellent performer for the development side.
Joined Gwalchmai in January 2024 and has made more than 40 appearances for the tier 4 club.
Prior to that he was in the Llanfairpwll side which emarked on a brilliant FAW Trophy run in 2023-24.
Started out at Llandudno FC Academy before moving to Llanfairpwll at the start of 2021-22, netting 20 goals in 74 games.
Developed his talents at Llandudno FC Academy before signing for Llangefni Town in 2020.
Has made 128 appearances for Cefni over spells in the Cymru North and Ardal North West, pocketing 19 goals.

The pacy wide man’s illustrious career has seen him operate within the top two Welsh tiers for Bangor City, Aberystwyth Town, Holyhead Hotspur, Caernarfon Town, Porthmadog and, for the past two seasons, Llandudno in the Cymru North.
Regular goalscorer throughout his career for Mynydd Llandegai and Llangefni Town, where he has been a first team fixture for the past two seasons.
Hit over 50 goals for Llandegai before signing for Cefni, where his goals tally stands at 25 from 67 matches.
Morris may have his sights set on becoming Ynys Môn’s all-time top scorer in these Island Games.
The Bangor 1876 wide man is currently on seven goals, just one behind Eifion Williams and two in arrears of record-holder Richard ‘Boskin’ Hughes.
Morris was another star from 2019 who equalised in the final for Môn with a stunning volley in the second half.
Featured in the 2019 gold medal Inter-Games squad, scoring three goals, and netted once in the 2023 tournament.
Gifted front man who played for Menai Bridge Tigers, Bangor City, Caernarfon Town, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno before joining Bangor 1876 at the start of 2023-24.
Set for his first involvement at the Island Games.
Prolific marksman in recent years for Bangor 1876 and Holyhead Hotspur.
Proven goalscorer who could be a key figure in Orkney.
Has had a fine season with both Llangefni Town and Trearddur Bay first team and development, producing 29 goals overall.
Showed fine potential in Connah’s Quay Nomads’ youth ranks before joining Llangefni in 2021-22.
Scored on Cymru North debut for Cefni against Llanrhaeadt-ym-Mochnant in January 2022, going on to net 19 goals in 56 games for Town.
Switched to Trearddur Bay in January 2025 and for the first and development sides combined has bagged 18 goals in 23 matches.
