Ynys Môn completed their preparations for July’s 2025 Island Games in Orkney with an impressive two-goal win over Cymru North side Llandudno.

Having defeated Holyhead Hotspur 8-4 in their opening warm-up game on June 13 before having a second scheduled fixture against CPD Y Rhyl 1879 cancelled, Anglesey came up against a strong opponent at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Saturday.

CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 striker Sam Jones notched both away goals, each coming via a Dylan Summers-Jones assist in the first half.

Ynys Môn coach Gerwyn Roberts said: “Llandudno had the better of the second half but we held our shape and limited them to very few chances.

“It was an outstanding squad performance against another very good tier 2 side.

“We had a few missing today too which made the result more impressive.”

The 20th International Island Games take place from July 12-18.

The men are in a group alongside Western Isles and Bermuda. The women are in the same group as Western Isles and Hitra.
