Berriew are crowned North East Wales Women’s League East Division champions, Llanystumdwy win away

Powys powerhouses Berriew clinched the East Division title in style with a nine-goal tanning of Northop Hall.
Veteran striker Gemma Jones led the way for the hosts with four goals, boosting her overall tally for the 2024-25 season to 23, 15 of them in the league.
Samantha Jones added a hat-trick, while Carla Jones and Hannah Richards bagged singles.
Berriew finished a very moderate fifth last season, so the current campaign represents a considerable improvement for the village side, which has won 10 of their 11 matches.

Tash Matthews’ 38th minute goal from a Heledd Savage assist was enough to seal the points for Llanystumdwy.
It was a seventh goal of the season for Llan top-scorer and captain Matthews.
Annest Roberts was player of the match for the away side, who sit fourth in the table, with Amlwch lying sixth out of seven.
