LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST – REPORTS, APRIL 26

Brickfield Rangers 1 Bow Street 3

Suddenly the Ardal North East title race is not so straightforward.

Bow Street’s win at Clwyedog Park on Saturday means Brickfield now need four points from their remaining two games to be crowned champions.

Only Bow or Brickfield can now win the title.

However, the battle for the promotion spots remains wide open with Llanuwchllyn and Dolgellau also still in with a chance.

If Bow win the title, then – subject to Tier 2 licences being secured – the second-placed team will be promoted and the third position finishers will enter the Ardal Northern play-off against Holyhead Hotspur – runners-up in Ardal North West – to reach the Cymru North.

If Brickfield finish top, then the third-placed club would enter the play-off.

Of course, all the above scenarios depend on promotion hopefuls Brickfield, Llanuwchllyn and Dolgellau being granted a Tier 2 licence, news on which is expected soon.

Bow took to the field against Brickfield on Saturday in determined mood and were three-up inside the first 25 minutes – Richie Ricketts, Callum Page and Courtney Perkins with the goals.

Bricky were unable to manage a single reply until the 95th minute, when Jay Richardson found the net.

Llanuwchllyn 6 Kerry 0

Dan Dascalu was a hat-trick hero as Llanuwchllyn kept their promotion dream alive.

Meilir Williams and sub Iolo Jones both converted penalties for Sion Tudor’s team, while Tomos Evans also made the scoresheet.

Llan were 4-0 ahead by half time.
