Kinmel Bay made it seven matches unbeaten while leaders Llangefni dropped two vital points in their bid for the league title.
Fresh from lifting the Betty Pickering Shield the previous weekend, Bay went into Sunday’s tussle with the table-toppers full of confidence.
A thrilling six-goal contest at Y Morfa resulted in an entertaining 3-3 draw, with both sides showcasing their attacking flair and determination until the final whistle.
The hosts started strongly and took an early lead in the 15th minute through Lexi Walsh, who calmly slotted home after a smart assist from Elin Jones.
However, Llangefni quickly responded, with 16-year-old newcomer Milly Lowe, making her first full start, firing in an equaliser in the 25th minute.
The momentum shifted further in Llangefni’s favour when they were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute, coolly converted by Ffion Thomas to put the visitors 2-1 ahead going into the break.
Kinmel Bay came out fighting in the second half and were rewarded in the 62nd minute as Walsh grabbed her second of the match, bringing the game level once again.
The home side then looked set to take all three points when Amy Chesters found the net in the 73rd minute with her 23rd goal of the season, turning in a fine delivery from Walsh.
But Llangefni weren’t done yet. Lowe struck again in the 87th minute to level the score and deny Kinmel Bay a memorable comeback win.
The draw lifted Kinmel Bay to third spot. Both sides will take positives from a hard-fought encounter.
Pwllheli cut the gap on leaders Llangefni to three points with a game in hand – but an inferior goal difference of 10 – after Sunday’s triumph at Lon Bach.
Charley Davies was the star of the first half for Pwllheli, scoring a hat-trick to give her side a 3-1 lead at the break, Tesni Hughes replying for the hosts.
The score stayed the same until the final quarter-hour, when Lois Thomas scored twice for the visitors to boost her season’s tally to 23, while Sian Moore netted again to make it 10 for the campaign.
Airbus kept their hopes of finishing runners-up alive with a home win over local rivals Northop Hall.
Lucy Vickers put the Wingmakers ahead, but Abbie Holland, on her final appearance for the team, made another special memory by equalising before half time.
In the second half, Airbus pulled clear with goals from Grace Kehoe and Niamh Makin.
