Callum Queen’s 30-yard special was the highlight of a great win for the Harbourmen over second-placed Caergybi.

Wednesday’s Millbank derby saw Holyhead take the field as the “away” side.

The result not only did wonders for Town’s morale, it also ended Caergybi’s distant title hopes, the scoreline meaning Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs were crowned Division One champions.

The game got underway in a competitive manner with Caergybi creating some early half-chances but nothing to test Steff Parry in the Town goal.

Town’s first effort came via a long driven shot from man of the match Charlie Diamond which was well saved by Jake Chapman in the Caergybi goal.

Holyhead had a shout for a penalty when Dave Williams went down in the box, but nothing doing.

Caergybi almost took the lead when a thunderous effort from Louis Chapman was saved by Parry. As the half drew to a close Myles Jones’ long range attempt went just wide of the post. That brought an end to a tight first half which ended 0-0.

Caergybi came out the blocks strongly in the second half with Parry saving another long range effort. A Caergybi free kick then hit the bar and the rebound was cleared off the line.

With the “home” side (both these teams share the same ground) building in confidence, Town broke through on goal and when Williams was fouled in the area, this time the penalty was awarded.

Craig Moore stepped up and hammered home to make it 1-0 on 55 minutes.

Town then began to move the play around well and when Queen picked up the ball on the hour he was able to cut inside and fire home from 30 yards with an outstanding strike.

As the game progressed Town were confident on the ball and were always looking a threat. Caergybi did create some chances late on but never threatened the Town goal.

Man of the Match Jordan Pritchard was a four-goal hero for emphatic winners Rovers.

Adrian Roberts added a double and Ryan Roberts was also on the mark.

Assists came from Leon Owen and Tom Williams, two each, Sion Bullock and Tom Verburg,

Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs P CPD Mountain Rangers P

Blaenau were crowned champions without kicking a ball after their match at home to Mountain Rangers was postponed and second-place Caergybi lost to Holyhead Town.

Meurig Parry and Jonny Cyster knocked in the goals which secured maximum points for Deiniolen.

Kieran Georgenson and Gwion Jones supplied the assists for a home side which ended their comeback season in North Wales football on a high.
