Rhyl 1879 seek manager for new reserve team

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 are introducing a reserve team for the first time – now they need the right person to manage them.

The Ardal North West club is inviting applications for the role of men’s reserve team manager.

Formed in 2020, phoenix club Rhyl 1879 are on the verge of winning promotion to the Tier 2 Cymru North league and are expanding by forming a second team.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to join our club and play a key role in shaping the future of football in North Wales,” said the club in a statement.

“We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable football coach with exceptional self-motivation to lead our new reserve team. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational skills, effective communication, and a proven ability to develop players to support pathways to the first team.

“This role offers the chance to make a significant impact both on and off the pitch, helping to set-up and deliver success that benefits not only our club but also our wider community.

“As Men’s Reserve Team Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering our club’s vision and supporting the CPD Y Rhyl 1879 five-year strategic plan.

A key focus will be setting up and ensuring the reserve team aligns closely with the first team’s standards and values, both on and off the pitch, and operates in a self-sufficient manner.

“You will work closely with the Men’s First Team Manager, report directly to the Managing Director and provide regular performance updates to the chair and CPD Y Rhyl 1879 committee.”

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a minimum FAW/UEFA C coaching licence.
  • A passion for football and an in-depth knowledge of the game, with experience in developing players.
  • A strong understanding of North Wales football, including the ability to support pathways to first-team football.
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills to drive a high performing, committed team that engages across all areas of the club.
  • Proven commitment to and experience in supporting local youth football development.
  • A disciplined self-starter with a positive and proactive attitude.
