Airbus UK Broughton 5 (Warren 9 pen, 35 & 73, Peers 87, Stevens 90+3)
Danny Warren hit the 25-goal mark for the season with a hat-trick which inspired Airbus to a thumping win that puts them just a point behind leaders Colwyn bay.
With five matches apiece left, Bay are on 66 points from 25 games with a goal difference of +55, while the Wingmakers have 65 from 25 and a GD of + 61.
With Tuesday’s match switched to Colwyn Bay’s Four Crosses Construction Arena, Warren fired the visitors in front from a ninth-minute penalty.
The prolific front man added his second on 35 minutes, a fierce shot beating Henry Green at his near post.
In the 73rd minute it was 3-0 after a great run from sub Kaiden Cooke resulted in his pulling the ball back for Warren, who completed his third trable of the campaign.
Sub George Peers and 17-year-old prospect Joshua Stevenson added further goals for Mark Allen’s side before the end.
SATURDAY, MARCH 15
Caersws 1 (McLaughlin 90+3)
Denbigh Town 1 (Davies 70)
Caersws climbed back out of the JD Cymru North relegation zone with a stoppage time equaliser in a 1-1 draw at home against Denbigh Town on Saturday.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 70th minute as Owen Davies was in the right place at the right time to nod the ball home for his 19th goal of the season from Ben Lockley’s header back across goal.
Caersws may have thought their chance to earn a point had gone when they were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute but Sam Phillips was denied by Elijah Beattie – the Denbigh goalkeeper’s second spot-kick save in the space of two games.
However, there was more drama to come in the 93rd minute when Bluebirds substitute Max McLaughlin popped up to poke the ball home in the midst of a goalmouth scramble.
