Kinmel Bay remain on course to retain the Cookson Cup after beating the team they defeated in last season’s final in Saturday’s semi at Y Morfa.
Bay will now meet Penmaenmawr Phoenix or Cerrigydrudion in the 2024-25 final. That pair will meet in the other semi this Saturday.
Kinmel made it 13 matches undefeated at the weekend after coming from behind to see off keen rivals Llandudno Junction.
The ever-prolific Dave Maddock edged the Railwaymen ahead in the 19th minute from a Mike Williams assist.
The home side equalised on 40 minutes, Daniel McIlvogue with the goal, Ciaran Brady the assist.
Jacob Jones netted in the 62nd minute to edge the hosts in front, Mason Richards setting him up.
And the tie was sealed when Ollie Gray, the match-winner in last season’s final, made it 3-1 in the 94th minute.
Junction assistant-manager Ian Roberts was red-carded on 91 minutes.
More good news for Kinmel Bay is the return of the pivotal Anthony Jones to the club for the end of season run-in.
Jones, 29, had been with Prestatyn Town since the start of 2024, making 27 tier 2 Cymru North appearances for the club.
Goals from Stan Farrell and an extra time winner by captain Solomon Dickens secured Penrhyn Bay a meeting with Rhos United in the 2024-25 REM Jones Cup Final.
The first half at The Oval was a cagey affair. Neither side created much and seemed quite fearful of making mistakes.
A highlight of the half saw Bay shot stopper Elliott Hughes make a treamendous one-on-one save against Albion’s pacey striker Thomas Bamber to keep the game level.
Both teams changed formations for the second half and began creating some good chances.
Albion took the lead in the 52nd minute when a home error allowed an opening at the back for Bamber to exploit and slot past Hughes.
Conceding a goal woke the home side up and they started to attack down the wings and become more direct.
In the 72nd minute Ben Subkovas crossed into the box for the ever-reliable Farrell to head in at the far post.
Pressure was now mounting on the Albion defence, Gabe George becoming a real.handful for the visitors.
George found himself in behind getting one-on-one with Albion keeper Ryan Fox. only to be taken out last man by Albion skipper Michael Harrison, who was shown a straight red card.
Penrhyn failed to capitalise and extra time was required.
In the 98th minute arrived the winner, Dickens was found in a little of pocket of space in the 18-yard box and calmly placed the ball in the net.
Albion now threw everything into attack, but did not help themselves when sub Jacob Gilbert-Jones was red-carded for allegedly kicking out.
Bay defended well and held on for the victory.
Rhos stayed on target for a Division One league and cup double with a narrow victory at Henllan to reach the REM Jones final.
Daniel Lewis struck first for Henllan on 10 minutes, but an Adam Williams penalty made it all-square at half time.
Lewis Sealey’s 23rd goal of the season on 57 minutes won the day for Rhos.
A scrappy first half saw Mochdre take the lead in the 37th minute.
A free kick from halfway was delivered by Josh Grimshaw and a well timed run at the back post by big centre-half Finlay Jones, who found himself unmarked, saw him head the ball into an empty net.
In first half added time, veteran Phoenix midfielder Ian Pattinson received the ball at the edge of the area, rolled his defender and picked out a pass for fellow veteran and long-standing team mate Jamie Jones to flick past onrushing keeper Nic Bould for 1-1.
Phoenix came out on the front foot in the second half. A strong defensive performance nullified the Mochdre attack and gave the visiting players in midfield and attack the opportunity to play with much more freedom.
Pen had the ball in the net after some great build up play and a fantastic finish from Adam Hold in the 55th minute, however the striker was denied by a tight offside call.
The away side did not have to wait long until they got their reward, a corner whipped into the box from Kyle Cooper found ex-Wrexham and Wales international Mike Williams, the experienced defender timing his run to perfection and sending a bullet header into the top corner.
Cooper hit the bar from a free kick and Alex Brownhill struck the post before time was called.
