REPORTS – TUESDAY, MARCH 11

Connah’s Quay Town 7 Conwy Borough 1

Harris Thomas made it seven goals in three games for Connah’s Quay Town with a hat-trick in Tuesday’s 7-1 thrashing of Conwy at Deeside Stadium.
The recent signing from South Wales tier 3 club Undy Athletic struck on 29, 30 and 64 minutes in a match where Town actually went a goal behind after Ethan Hill netted in the sixth minute.
It was an uncanny resemblance to Saturday’s game at leaders Rhyl 1879 for the bottom side, who took a seventh minute lead at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium, but ended up 7-1 losers.
Freddie Watts levelled for hosts Connah’s Quay on Tuesday, Lewis Williams made it 2-1 and Thomas delivered a double before Pascal Gomez scored to establish a 5-1 half time scoreline.
Thomas completed his treble just past the hour and Connor Parry rounded off the scoring on 88.
The result nudged Town up to eighth.

SATURDAY, MARCH 8

NFA 0 Porthmadog 1 (Hilditch 60)

Porthmadog picked up three vital points when they travelled to Rhyl to play NFA at their Ffordd Derwen ground for the first time in the Eifionydd club’s history.
The small, tight pitch with a bobbly surface ensured the ball was more in the air than on the ground.
From the kick off NFA had a chance as Curtis Cook’s shot from the corner of the box was palmed over by Ollie Farebrother.
Port nearly opened the scoring on eight minutes as a Tom Hilditch free kick hit the bar.
In the 14th minute a good ball found Cook again and his clever first touch put him into space in the box but a poor contact made the save comfortable for Farebrother.
There was a big shout for a Port penalty on 35 as John Littlemore seemed to be fouled in the box but the referee was not impressed despite away team protests.
Things remained scrappy in the second period with misplaced passes littering play.
On 60 minutes came the decider when Hilditch was fouled on the edge of the box. The referee initially awarded a penalty but his assistant corrected his error and gave a free kick just outside the box.
Hilditch’s low shot dribbled under the keeper and over the line to the delight of the travelling support. This brought NFA to life for a short period. On 66 minutes, Oliver Hansen’s powerful shot was well saved by Farebrother. Soon after Hilditch beat the offside trap, his low cross was palmed away and sub Rhys Alun could not react quickly enough to the loose ball and the keeper gathered.

Subs Rhys Alun and Jamie Jones were causing NFA problems. The former almost profited on a speculative Hilditch overhead kick on 76 minutes.
As NFA pushed forward a Caio Evans ball on 85 minutes found Rhys Alun, but the keeper did well to smother his shot from close range.
Both sides huffed and puffed during the closing moments but Port hung on for what could be an important victory as both Holyhead and Trearddur Bay dropped points.
NFA manager Niall McGuinness was shown a red card.

Corwen 1 Llangefni Town 1

Cameron Jones’ penalty handed Llangefni a 45th minute lead, but Robbie Williams levelled in first half stoppage time and that was the end of the scoring.

Llanrwst United 1 Holyhead Hotspur 1

All-square at Gwydir Park where Llanrwst recorded their sixth 1-1 draw of the season.
Callum Parry gave the Roosters a 31st minute lead, but Tomos Owen levelled after 75.
Hotspur coach Dean Garmey and Llanrwst assistant-manager Gwyn Jones both received red cards.

Menai Bridge Tigers 1 Nantlle Vale 3

Sion Jones, Ashley Owen and Kevin Lloyd supplied the goals which won the day for Vale, Callum Graves replying.

St Asaph City 2 CPD Pwllheli 1

Ashley Ainsworth’s goal gave Pwllheli a half-time lead, but responses before the hour from Callum Roberts and Josh Brown secured a Saints win.
Jack Jones was red-carded for Pwllheli.

Trearddur Bay 2 Connah’s Quay Town 2

Bay let a two-goal half time lead slip as Quay rallied to grab a point.
A Pascal Gomez own goal and Dewi Thomas strike ensured Trearddur led handily at the break.
Harris Thomas pulled one back from the penalty spot after 55, then Lewis Williams made it two-all on 76.
Town assistant manager Stephen Hopkins was red carded in the late stages.

CPD Y Felinheli 1 CPD Llannefydd 4

Felinheli’s revival was grounded as Llannefydd took three well-deserved points at Cae Seilo.
Lewys Turner, Rhys Davies, David Lawson-Cooke and Tom Jones provided the away goals, Cal MacDonald with a consolation for Felin.

CPD Rhyl 1879 7 Conwy Borough 1

James Etherington gave bottom side Conwy a shock early lead, but goals from Dylan Proctor and Jonny Bravo made it 2-1 to the leaders by the break.
In the second half, Proctor completed his brace, sub Chris Bennett delivered a double, captain Reece Fairhurst converted a penalty and Tom Kemp also found the net.
