With four games to play, Connah’s Quay Nomads are five points away from their first Genero Adran North league title.
Jordan Parry’s side kept their 100 percent record with a 10th straight win at the weekend over CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
Wins at CPDM Bangor on Tuesday night and three points at home to bottom side NFA next weekend will make sure the Nomads are crowned champions.
No team deserves it more. They have been head and shoulders above everyone in the league from day one.
Sunday saw the Quay make it back-to-back seven-goal salvos at home in the league.
The hosts were 5-0 up by half time, four goals arriving in the first 18 minutes.
Top-scorer and captain Polly Wild-McGregor netted twice, Ella Jones, Anna Marsh and Polly Kendrick-Jones also on target.
Wild-McGregor could have made it a first half hat-trick but her penalty was saved by Lilywhites keeper Lauren Jones.
Kendrick-Jones and Sophie Hodson added further goals after the break.
Rhyl manager Cassandra Thomas commented after the game: “It was always going to be tough after having 4 weeks with no game. Today, we faced a very good Connah’s Quay side. First half we simply weren’t good enough, lacking in every area and we were punished for this.
“However, the girls regrouped in the second half, working hard for one another and defended much better as a team. I can’t knock the attitude and work ethic from the girls in the second half. It’s a game we will put to bed and move on from quickly. Our focus now turns to the next one.”
Asked to name her Player of the Match, Cassandra said: “Lauren Jones. Brilliant performance from our goalkeeper today who pulled off some brilliant saves including saving a penalty.”
Llanfair’s pursuit of second place continued as they celebrated a first-ever league win over Llandudno.
Mia Roberts struck first for Tudno on 38 minutes, but Sophie Cook levelled before half time, then two quickfire net-finders from Becky Jones and Harriet Davies made it 3-1 to the Powys hosts.
Substitute Amelia Mercer replied on 86 with her first goal for Llandudno’s senior team but Llanfair held on for the points.
Six goals from the prolific Beth Roberts helped guide Henllan to a 14-0 scoreline against league newcomers Coedpoeth, who are still developing as a team.
Roberts is now on 43 goals from 13 games across all competitions for the green and blacks, 37 being netted in the league in nine outings.
Abby Cattell added four, Mabli Fitzgerald two, Lleucu Williams a single and there was also an OG from Olivia Kassab.
Henllan were missing three key regulars, but gave a debut to Ella Simcox, a new signing from Rhyl 1879.
Berriew continue to head the table with 21 points from eight games, while Henllan are on 19 from nine and Airbus 16 from seven. Each team plays 12 fixtures.
Three goals in the final 20 minutes won this one for Llanystumdwy.
Seren Ellis, Jo Cynan and sub Ellie Williams ensured Llan returned to winning ways.
