FAW Amateur Trophy: Trearddur Bay and Llanrwst kept apart in semi-finals draw

Trearddur Bay have been drawn against former Cymru Premier club Port Talbot Town in the semi-finals of the FAW Amateur Trophy.
In the other semi, Llanrwst United will take on tier 6 rank outsiders Penygraig United – but only if the Conwy Valley side win their rearranged quarter-final against Goytre this Saturday.
Tonight’s draw still leaves open the possibility of an all-North Wales final, but there is a lot of football to be played before knowing if that scenario becomes a reality.
Trearddur Bay are aiming to become only the second Ynys Môn club to win the Trophy in its 135-year history following Llangefni Town’s success in 1991-92 when the competition was known as the Welsh Intermediate Cup.
Ardal North West side Bay romped through to the last four with a 7-2 victory over Ardal North East high-flyers Brickfield Rangers on Saturday.
Tier 4 South Wales Premier League side Port Talbot are aiming to rebuild after being relegated from tier 3 last season.
They were a Welsh Premier League club between 2000-01 and 2015-16, changing their name to Port Talbot Town in 2001.
Talbot edged into the Trophy semis on penalties at the expense of FC Cwmaman on Saturday.
The FAW Amateur Trophy semi-finals will be played at neutral ground on the weekend of March 21-22.
