NORTH WALES WOMEN’S LEAGUE WEST DIVISION

Llanystumdwy 0
Trearddur Bay 1 (Thomas 58)

Gemma Thomas’ 58th minute super strike ensured Trearddur kept their 100 percent record in 2025, while for Llanystumdwy it was a first league defeat of the season.

Two massively improved sides at tier 3 level in North Wales put up a great battle at Parc Dwyfor on Sunday.

The game was played on a bumpy pitch and both teams worked really hard to try and gain the advantage.

Defences dominated and both sets of midfield fought tirelessly in a bid to take the upper hand, but there were no clear-cut chances created in the first half.

The second half continued the same way with both sides showing great commitment and energy but neither earning superiority.

Match-winner Gemma Thomas (15)

That was until two minutes before the hour when Trearddur Bay were awarded a free kick 20 yards out.

Up stepped centre half Gemma Thomas who curled the ball around the defensive wall and into the net with a brilliant effort.

Bay’s Millie Turner (6) and Sarah O’Hara of Llanystumdwy share a strong challenge

The rest of the game continued in the same vein with two ultra competitive sides trying their best.

This was not a great spectacle for the neutral but both sides played really well and gave 100%. Unfortunately for Llanystumdwy one moment of magic won the game.

A tremendous effort from both sides and the game was really well refereed.

Trearddur manager Ali Thomas was full of praise for both sides and stated this was a fantastic result for his team.
