Llansantffraid 1-3 Brickfield Rangers

Fifth-place Brickfield moved to within four points of leaders Bow Street with three games in hand after Wednesday night’s victory at bottom team Llansantffraid.

Although the hosts took an early lead, Jay Richardson levelled for Rangers on 20 minutes, making it 1-1 at half time.

Simon Smith edged Bricky in front with 74 gone and Andrew Vale settled it with his 26th goal of the season – and 15th in the league – with 82 on the clock.

SATURDAY – FEBRUARY 8

Builth Wells 2-0 Llansantffraid

Rhys Thomas and Aaron Powell delivered the goals which secured three points for second-placed Builth at Lant Fields on Saturday.

Cefn Albion 2-3 Kerry

Xavier Matisse notched an 80th minute decider to earn third-place Kerry an excellent result at Clywedog Park.

Star of the show was Luke Mumford, Kerry’s record marksman, who reached and passed the 250-goal milestone with a double.

Alex Williams and a Matisse own goal kept Cefn in the contest.

Llandrindod Wells 1-0 Llanidloes Town

Thomas Durant’s fifth-minute goal was enough for Llandrindod to beat Llanidloes, who had Drew Reynolds sent off for a second yellow after 84.

Llanfair United 1-4 Dolgellau Athletic

Dennis Bates, captain Jake Jones, Osian Morris and Gerwyn Williams bagged a goal apiece as Dolgellau’s dished out a thrashing at Llanfair.

Nyasha Mwamuka replied for the hosts.

Llangollen Town 2-1 Radnor Valley

Louis Middlehurst and William Cooke netted on 62 and 69 minutes respectively to hand the hosts a winning lead, Matthew Croose with Radnor’s consolation on 74.

Llanuwchllyn 2-2 Chirk AAA

Superb result for Chirk at title hopefuls Llanuwchllyn.

Meilir Williams’ 20th minute spot-kick put Llan in front, but Toby Nash levelled on the stroke of half time, chipping home from 25 yards.

Tom Freeman edged the Colliers ahead on 57, beating three defenders before scoring with a neat low finish,, and it was nearly 3-1 after Niall Freeman’s header was pushed onto a post by Rob Dascalu.

But then Chirk’s hopes of victory took a knock when goalkeeper Jake Nicholls was controversially red-carded after 73 for bringing down a Llanuwchllyn attacker outside the box even though the visitors appeared to have covering defenders.

Caleb Davies took over the gloves and performed admirably in the remaining time, even though he was beaten by a deflected free kick from Ilan Hughes to bring the home side level on 78 minutes.

Coach Lewis Penrose was also shown red for the visitors on 75 over a dispute regarding the Nicholls dismissal.

Penycae 1-3 Brickfield Rangers

Rangers made it eight unbeaten with maximum points at Afoneitha Road.

Andrew Vale, Gerson Silva Neto and Jay Richardson all struck in the first half to put Gareth Wilson’s side in command.

William Nevitt pulled one back for Penycae on 85, but that was as good as it got for them.

Rhos Aelwyd 1-2 Bow Street

Steffan Williams’ own goal and a Callum Page net-finder on 84 was enough to bank the points which kept Bow Street top of the table.

Scott Reeves responded for Rhos on 91 minutes, but the visitors took maximum spoils.
