Four-some show on the road from Kinmel Bay

BETTY PICKERING SHIELD – FEBRUARY 9, 2025
Amlwch Town 0
Kinmel Bay 4 (S Williams 2, Scanlan, Standing)
Kinmel Bay produced a good all-round performance as they secured a 4-0 away victory in the preliminary round of the Betty Pickering Shield.
From the first whistle, they showed their intent, pressing high and dictating the tempo against a determined opposition.
Bay’s first chance came from a penalty early on in the game which was narrowly put wide by skipper Seren Williams.
However, not long after this a through ball played by Amy Chesters found the feet of Seren Williams, who nicely slotted into the back of the net to give Bay their first goal.

The second goal came in the 27th minute when Chesters delivered a long pass to left back Chloe Scanlan who ran with the ball and unleashed a superb strike from outside of the box to double the lead.
This was followed by some pressure from Amlwch’s midfield who played a perfect pass to their striker. Shelby Wild came running out and made a fantastic one-versus-one save.
Just before the half time whistle Kinmel Bay’s Georgia Williams played a great ball from the corner post which found the head of skipper Williams, who powerfully nodded home for 3-0.
The second half saw Kinmel Bay continue the pressure, with the midfield controlling possession and the defence remaining rock solid. A well-worked team move led to the fourth goal, as Natasha Standing finished clinically from just outside the box in the 47th minute.

Amlwch came back strong pushing the ball forward, with some lovely passes and creating space, firing in some great shots which were all kept out by Wild.
A slight change in formation for Kinmel Bay saw the game out.

A composed performance guided Bay through to the next round, with a clean sheet highlighting their defensive discipline. With momentum on their side, they will look to carry this form forward in both cup and league action.
