BARRY GRIFFITHS captures some great action from Kinmel Bay (blue) versus Llandudno Amateurs – many thanks

NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Llandudno Amateurs 3-6 Kinmel Bay

Good news for Kinmel Bay – prolific striker Connor Morris is staying put.
The remarkably consistent frontman, who has netted 87 goals in 83 games in his three seasons at Y Morfa, turned down approaches from a tier 3 and tier 4 club for his services this week.
A Kinmel Bay club statement said: “We thank Connor for his continued loyalty shown by staying at this club where he’s part of the team that’s growing each year.”
Unfortunately, it is not all good news, as Morris is out for a month after spraining lateral ligaments in a knee at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Kinmel Bay continued their Premier Division title push on Saturday with a 6-3 victory at Llandudno Amateurs.
It is now eight league matches unbeaten for Bay – seven of them wins – and they trail leaders CPD Y Glannau by just three points with four games in hand.
Kinmel manager Leon Field said: “I thought we were not to our usual standard in terms of performance delivery.
“However, we’re not taking anything away from Llandudno Amateurs; they played at high pressure and stuck to their game plan well.
“Tactically, we changed our style of play at half time and the rewards came; it was one of the hardest games we’ve faced this season and if they (Amateurs) can keep all those lads together each week they will really start to push on.”

Just three minutes into the game, Connor Morris, assisted by Daniel Mcilvogue, opened the scoring with his 24th of the season.
An unfortunate Liam Jones own goal in the 16th minute levelled the score, then David Hansom edged the Amateurs briefly into the lead before Ryan Roberts equalised on 29.
Mathew Beach made it 3-2 for the visitors in the 57th minute and after 76 Mcilvogue added number four.
Three more goals arrived after the 90th minute was struck.
Sub Jacob Jones, who replaced the injured Morris for the second half, assisted Dominic Holland to make it 5-2 and Oli Gray added a sixth.
Harry Roberts replied for Llandudno with 95 on the clock.

Llanfairfechan Town 5-2 Rhuddlan Town

Ellis Jones (2), Jamie Haggas, Harry Parkes-Smith and sub Cyril Carey delivered the goals for winners Llanfairfechan, captain Liam Bowers with both for Rhuddlan.

Llansannan 2-5 Llandudno Junction

Tomos Rhys-Williams was a hat-trick hero for Junction, Bryan Roberts (2, 1 pen) making up the rest, captain Gwion Bibby and Adam Gage responding for the hosts.

Meliden 2-4 Cerrigydrudion

Nine-man Meliden were undone by two late goals from the visitors.
The hosts led twice through Kai Wallis (penalty) and Finley Newell, Tom Jones replying, before a sending off for a second yellow for the Miners on 75 minutes turned the game.
Tom Jones equalised from the penalty spot and Iorwerth Jones made it 3-2 Cerrig before the home side had a second player dismissed.
Tegid Williams sealed the win for the visitors with their fourth goal on 85.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 6-1 Bow FC

Six of the best from third-placed Phoenix, who made it 14 league games unbeaten.
James Hobson made it 1-0 with a header from Jamie Jones cross into the box in the fourth minute.
Daniel Williams added a second in the 14th minute, Hobson with the assist.
Bow hit back on 16 through Isaac Carey, but an Adam Hold double on 30 and 36 put Pen in command.
Hold completed his hat trick in the 59th minute from another Jamie Jones cross.
Skipper Liam Griffiths rounded of the afternoon with a stunning volley from his weaker foot via the edge of the area in the 78th minute.

Y Glannau 4-0 Bro Cernyw

Ste Kirk delivered a hat-trick as Y Glannau maintained their grip on top spot.
Kirk’s third goal came from a penalty, while Dan Price was also on the mark for the hosts.
