WELSH BLOOD SERVICE LEAGUE CUP – NORTHERN QUARTER-FINALS

Bangor 1876 2 Ruthin Town 0

Bangor’s first win in eight matches took them into the northern semi-finals of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup.

After a goalless first half, the hosts took the lead seven minutes into the second period via Tom Mahoney, who curled in a beauty from the edge of the box.

Liam Morris sealed a home victory with a calm finish in the 78th minute.

Gresford Athletic 0 Colwyn Bay 3

Having already defeated Gresford 6-0 and 5-0 in the league this season, Colwyn Bay maintained their domination over the Colliers with a 3-0 cup success at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Craig Lindfield broke the deadlock on 26 minutes, Josh Carey added a second after 51 and Gwion Dafydd completed the job with a late third.

Llay Welfare 1 Airbus UK Broughton 5

A comfortable success in the end at The Ring for the Cymru North leaders.

Oliver Lanceley handed the visitors a 16th minute lead, but Jonathan Collo levelled on 36 to make it one-apiece at the interval.

Airbus took command in the final half-hour, Nathan Williams putting them ahead on 63 before Lanceley completed a double after 70.

Danny Warren and James Davies also struck for Mark Allen’s side before the final whistle.

Penrhyncoch 5 Holywell Town 1

Quite a surprising scoreline at Cae Baker where Penrhyncoch ran out emphatic and deserved winners over the league champions.

Sub Ifan Burrell (2), Kieran Booker, Daniel Owen and Harri Horwood delivered the home goals, Jamie Breese’s penalty the only reply the Wellmen could manage.

CYMRU NORTH

Prestatyn Town 1 Mold Alexandra 3

Owen Cordiner’s hat-trick sank Prestatyn, the former Corwen hitman finding the net on 12, 30 (pen) and 90+5 minutes at Bastion Gardens on Friday night.

Rob Parry’s clever 68th minute finish pulled it back to 2-1, but that was as good as it got for the next to bottom hosts.

Guilsfield 1 Flint Mountain 1

Luke Johnston gave Mountain a 27th minute lead at Clos Mytton, but Jamie Hyne’s stoppage time leveller at the end of the first half earned Guilsfield a point.
