Toby Jones was a hat-trick hero for a Trearddur Bay side which cruised into the quarter-finals of the Ardal North League Cup.
With a place in the last eight of the FAW Amateur Trophy already secured, the Beach Boys reached the same stage of their domestic knockout where a clash with Ardal North East table-toppers Bow Street awaits on March 1.
Bay expected a tough battle on Saturday as Corwen had fought back from 3-2 down to beat the islanders 4-3 in a league encounter earlier this season.
It was a perfect start for the home side, Sion Edwards finding Sean McCaffery on seven minutes and the midfielder fired home for his second goal in as many games.
Trearddur stayed on top and Toby Jones with a fine finish doubled the lead on 35 minutes, this time Les Davies with the assist.
The returning Dion Donohue was proving a handful in midfield, the skipper dancing his way into the area only to see his shot blocked well to keep the score at 2-0.
Some questionable challenges were put in early in the second period and referee Mark James felt it was one too many for Corwen’s Calyn Spencer, the winger sent for an early bath after being shown his second yellow on 55.
Bay really took a grip of the game from this point and made the extra man count. A long range strike was spilled by the Corwen keeper and Jones was on hand to bag his second of the day,
Jones would go on to claim his hat-trick, a wicked inswinging corner sailing all the way in to put the tie well beyond Corwen.
Dewi Thomas rounded the goalkeeper in stoppage time after a perfect through ball from Casey Gregg to put the icing on the cake, the midfielder off the bench to get the fifth.
Trearddur Bay: Paul Pritchard; Casey.Gregg, Anthony.Marshall, Tom Taylor, Sion.Edwards (M Rowlands 78); Dion Donohue (Dewi Thomas 73), Thomas Lennon (J Roberts 78), S.McCaffery (K Hughes 73), Toby Jones; Les Davies, Dan Evans (Joe Chaplin 73).
Prior to Saturday’s match, a minute’s silence was impeccably observed in memory of Ken Wyn Jones, a lifelong Porthmadog fan and former chairman of the supporters club.
Port returned to cup duty with a fairly comfortable victory over Gwynedd rivals Y Felinheli.
The hosts were missing a fair few, with Tom Hilditch suspended for being red-carded during the victory over Rhyl 1879 in the previous round, Shaun Cavanagh and Jack Rimmer were both cup-tied, and Rhys Alun has joined the injured list alongside Jack Gibney.
Felinheli missed a great early chance before Port took an eighth-minute lead.
Breaking at speed, Danny Brookwell latched on to a through ball before seeing his strong left-footer saved by Marc Wyn Jones. Jamie Jones kept his cool to slot home the rebound left-footed from 12 yards out for a smartly-taken opener.
Port extended their lead some seven minutes later when a glorious one-two between Cai Jones and Brookwell led to the latter applying a great finish.
The hosts all but booked their place in the next round in the 35th minute when Brookwell collected a delightful chipped pass by Caio Evans before lobbing the ball high over the advancing Marc Jones to ensure a 3-0 lead.
There was no addition to the score in the second half but the game remained entertaining enough as Port tried to add to their tally and Felin produced quite a few good-looking attacks without seriously troubling the home rearguard.

The Magpies progressed to the quarters after coming through a tricky test Llanidloes.
On a very heavy pitch with no real clear cut chances, the only goal came midway through the second half via Steff Davies.
A hard-fought cup tie at Parc Gwydir saw Llannefydd emerge victorious 5-3 on penalties.
Morgan Owen and Sam Jones were on target for the visitors – who led twice – in the match itself, which ended 2-2, Cian Hughes and Callum Parry replying for the Rwsters.
Great win on spot-kicks for a Nantlle side which lost 4-1 at home in the league to NFA seven days earlier.
Vale were in front twice through a Llion Griffiths double, but NFA responded on each occasion through a pair from Kai Davies.
Louie Middlehurst handed Llangollen an early lead before Jack Clarke levelled from the spot in the second half.
No further goals so it went to pens, Radnor coming out on top.
