Wales manager visits player’s former school in Flintshire

Wales Women’s teams manager Rhian Wilkinson has visited the school where one of her most talented prospects used to frequent the classrooms and playing fields.

Wilkinson was a popular guest at Flint High School, where Wales defender Mayzee Davies was a former pupil.

The Canada-born manager, who led Wales to their first-ever major tournament finals – the 2025 Euro Championships – in December, has been touring the north this week checking out potential future stars.

Mayzee, 18, began her career with Flint Town United and Llandudno before moving onto Everton, Manchester United, AFC Fylde and Manchester City.

Still signed with City, she is spending the current season on loan with Liverpool Feds of the FA Women’s National League North.

Flint girl Mayzee earned five caps for Wales Under-17s and three for the U19s before making her senior international debut on 9 April 2024, appearing as a 77th-minute substitute for Josie Green during Wales’ 6–0 victory over Kosovo in Podujevë.

She made a further two substitute appearances during qualifying versus Croatia and Kosovo (home) as Wales reached the Euro play-offs and later the finals.
