REPORTS – JAN 24 & 25
Holywell Town 2 Airbus UK 1
Hot on the heels of beating the leaders last Saturday, Holywell Town have added an exciting young defender to their squad for the closing months of the season.
Reece Oliver, 20, is a centre-back or centre midfielder whose previous clubs include Wrexham, Gresford Athletic, Cammell Laird and Vauxhall Motors.
Oliver featured in 11 matches for fellow Cymru North club Gresford this term. He now aims to help maximise Holywell’s chances of retaining their league title.
Saturday’s clash at the Bartons North Wales Stadium saw leaders Airbus UK Broughton’s 13-match winning streak come to an end at reigning champions Holywell.
The Wingmakers took the lead with 36 on the clock as teenager Kaiden Cooke bagged his third goal in four games, but Holywell were level just four minutes into the second period as Danny Sullivan played a through ball into the path of Jamie Breese, who fired home.
The hosts completed the turnaround in the 72nd minute when Brady McGilloway’s cross from the right was headed in by Sullivan to secure a fifth consecutive home win for Johnny Haseldin’s side.
Denbigh Town 3 Penrhyncoch 0

An emphatic second half performance from Denbigh earned a commendable 3-0 win over Penrhyncoch at Central Park.
After a goalless first half, Nathan Brown marked his 100th appearance for Town with a close-range opener in the 69th minute before Kyle Cooper sent a superb free-kick from distance beyond Leigh Jenkins via the post.
Substitute Danny Clarke, who had only been on the pitch for 13 minutes, wrapped up a convincing display from Dewi Llion’s side in stoppage time.
Gresford Athletic 1 Buckley Town 3
Buckley ran out worthy victors away to Gresford on Saturday.
Sam McCormick recorded his first league goal of the season in style as he beautifully curled home a free-kick to open the scoring for the Bucks in the 27th minute and Max Moore doubled the lead on 29 as he tapped in Adam Boydell’s cross.
Liam Driscoll got in on the act three minutes into the second half with a header beyond Lewis Dutton to make it 3-0, but the Bucks could not keep a clean sheet as Haci Ozlu scored a consolation for Gresford with four minutes left.
Guilsfield 2 Bangor 1876 1
It is now six league matches without a victory for 1876.
Guilsfield leapfrogged Bangor into the top half of the table with a 2-1 home win over Michael Johnston’s side.
Guils’ Jamie Hyne found the breakthrough inside just six minutes for his sixth goal in his last four league matches at Clos Mytton.
Iwan Matthews doubled the advantage shortly after the hour mark, which proved decisive as Tom Mahoney pulled a goal back for Bangor late on.
Mold Alexandra 4 Llay Welfare 1
Lucas Gregson and Owen Cordiner both scored twice as Mold claimed a comfortable 4-1 home win over struggling Llay.
Gregson, in only his second game on loan from Connah’s Quay Nomads, broke the deadlock in first half stoppage time.
Mold scored twice in the first eight minutes of the second half as Cordiner fired past Mike Platt before Gregson tapped in from close range. It was 4-0 just after the hour mark when Cordiner headed home from Craig Rogers’ cross.
Bisensio Kamilo’s header got Llay on the scoresheet in the final five minutes, but it was only a consolation as Jordan Scott’s side slipped to the bottom of the table.
Prestatyn Town 1 Caersws 0
Prestatyn ended a barren run of 12 straight league defeats by beating Caersws at Bastion Gardens courtesy of a late Tyler Joyce goal.
Town keeper Robbie Williams made sure maximum spoils went to the Seasiders by saving an added time penalty.
This match was reported on in depth by Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.
Flint Mountain 1-5 Colwyn Bay
Match reported on in detail by Grassroots North Wales on Friday.
Jamie Cumming netted a hat-trick as Colwyn Bay made it 16 straight league wins and moved to within a point of leaders Airbus.
Second half substitutes Josh Carey and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes combined to net Bay’s other goals.
All this after Mike Hayes struck very early for Mountain.
Llandudno 5-2 Ruthin Town
Report appeared Friday night on GNW.
Mark Cadwallader notched a hat-trick for the hosts, Harvey Bennett and new capture Ben Maher also on target, Sam Jones and Harry Martin responding for Ruthin.
