FEATURE: Bangor City’s team of 2014-15 – where are they now?

Earlier today we ran a report on a Bangor City match from 10 years ago where the Citizens beat Port Talbot Town 2-1.
Fast forward to 2025 and let’s check on what the Bangor players from that day are doing now.
Liam Caddick
Now aged 35. Currently listed as wiithout a club, he played for Burscough last season. Also had spells at Droylsden, Prescot Cables and Runcorn Linnets. Was at Bangor for a relatively short spell in 2014-15.
Lee Healey
Now 38, the centre-forward from Merseyside played a lot of his football in North Wales, including stints with Connah’s Quay Nomads, Holywell Town, Cefn Druids, Bangor City and his last recorded club was Aberystwyth Town in 2017.
In 2014-15, he scored what was believed to be the fastest-ever Welsh Premier hat-trick timed from kick-off – three goals within five minutes – for Cefn Druids against a Nomads side he had just left. Fair to say his life outside of football in recent years has been troubled to say the least.
Connor Roberts
Keeper whose career has gone from strength to strength since playing for Bangor between 2015-18,
Wales C, U19 and U21 international Roberts is now regular stopper for The New Saints, where in recent seasons he has won numerous trophies and appeared in endless European ties, including the history-making qualification for the Uefa Conference League group stages.
Michael Johnston
Legendary defender who won three Welsh Cups and the Welsh Premier League with the Citizens between 2008-11. Is now manager of Bangor 1876, who he has led into the tier 2 Cymru North League.
Declan Walker
Right-back, now aged 32, who was a pro at Wrexham before representing Bangor City between 2013-16.
Spent two seasons at Aberystwyth Town before spells with Stalybridge, Matlock and Warrington Rylands, prior to joining hometown club Warrington Town in 2022.
Helped Warrington Rylands to the Northern Premier League West Division title in 2021-22 and played a key role in Warrington Town’s elevation to the National League North for the first time in their history in 2022-23.
Chris Roberts
Left-back who won Welsh Premier titles with Rhyl FC and Bangor City before stints with Buckley Town, Flint Town United and Mold Alex.
Is now part of the coaching set-up at Cymru North club Buckley Town. Aged 38, he also played for Colwyn Bay and Cefn Druids in his earlier career.
Ryan Edwards
36-year-old veteran midfielder who has been a tremendous servant for Airbus UK Broughton in recent seasons, holding the record for the most Welsh Premier appearances for the club.
Was a really consistent performer for Bangor City between 2012-16, having joined them from Airbus and played for Halkyn United before that.
Anthony Miley
After his time at Bangor City, this 32-year-old central defender went on to star for Marine, making his debut in August 2019 and making 62 appearances, scoring 6 times.
His most famous goal for the then eighth-tier club came at Colchester United in the 2020-21 FA Cup competition as Marine went on to record their first ever away win over a Football League club.
Miley left the Mariners in 2023.
Before representing Bangor, he played for coast rivals Colwyn Bay and Conwy United during 2012-13 having previously turned out for Bootle.
Miley spent five good seasons at Bangor between 2013-14 and 2017-18.
Callum Morris
Central-midfielder with a tremendous goalscoring record who made a huge impact in the Welsh Premier before signing for Precision FC of the United Arab Emirates in February 2024.
Previously with Wigan Athletic, Tranmere Rovers and Chester City, Morris spent just the second half of the 2014-15 season at Bangor City, netting eight goals in 15 matches before beginning a long and successful stay with Connah’s Quay.
Morris spent just under nine years with the Deesiders and featured in many of their most important moments.
He made 295 competitive starts for the club, 225 in the Cymru Premier, notching 82 goals across all competitions.
Two goals stood out most – his match winning strike in the July 2016 victory over Norwegian side Stabæk in Nomads’ first ever European tie, which they won 1-0 after drawing 0-0 in the first leg at Rhyl.
Perhaps more famous was Morris’ penalty against Scottish side Kilmarnock. With The Nomads leading 1-0 on the night and drawing 2-2 as it stood on aggregate at the time, Callum stepped up to score one of, if not, the biggest goal in the club’s history from the spot.
During his time with Nomads, he was a two time Cymru Premier champion, lifted the Welsh Cup once and Nathaniel MG Cup twice, as well as being a runner up in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Sam Hart
Spent three years at Bangor City between 2014-17, proving himself to be a fine left wing-back with tremendous shooting ability and quality set-piece delivery.
He went on to turn out for Llandudno, Flint Town United and Airbus before rejoining Colwyn Bay in summer 2022.
Hart was voted Supporters Player of the Season in the Bay’s Cymru North title winning season of 2022/23 and was appointed captain at the start of this campaign following the retirement of Tom McCready.
Les Davies
Currently with Trearddur Bay in the tier 3 Ardal North West where he is still going strong at the age of 40, scoring on this very day in a 2-0 win over NFA.
In eight seasons with the Citizens, he scored 123 goals, winning three Welsh Cups, the Welsh Premier League title and made several appearances in Europe for the all-blues.
After leaving City in 2015/16, he went on to play for a number of clubs and had two spells with Bangor 1876, whom he helped rise from tier 5 to tier 2.
The striker’s WPL career saw him make 403 starts across six clubs, chalk up 41 substitute appearances, and net 128 goals.
He was voted Player of the Decade by viewers of S4C football programme Sgorio in 2019-20.
Sion Edwards
Like Les, is now with Trearddur Bay and has cancelled a couple of retirements to continue playing at 37.
And just like long-time friend Davies, Edwards won three Welsh Cups, the Welsh Premier League title and made several appearances in Europe for Bangor City.
Left-winger who became a club legend at both Farrar Road and Nantporth.
