Farewell to Rhyl 1879 foursome
Four players have left Ardal North West title hopefuls CPD Y Rhyl 1879 as part of the club’s new year shake-up.
Danny Clarke, Dan Wright, Leigh Craven and Seb Kidd have all departed the tier 3 high-flyers in search for regular game time.
Clarke, 23, formerly of Denbigh Town, Bala Town and St Asaph City, joined the Lilywhites at the start of thr current season and made 10 first team appearances, scoring once.
The 19-year-old Wright signed for 1879 at the start of 2024-25 from Wrexham AFC, where he was a regular in the youth side.
The son of former Liverpool, Sunderland and Rhyl FC defender Stephen Wright, Dan featured in 14 games for 1879, mainly as a substitute.
Experienced midfielder Craven, 37, landed at Rhyl 1879 in February last year and was involved in 20 matches for the team, often from the bench, but endured a testing time with injuries.
Striker Kidd made just one substitute appearance for Rhyl after joining from North East Wales League club Acton in November.
Rhyl 1879 have signed a number of players in December and January, including attacking midfielder Dylan Meredith, striker Archie Jones, defender Matty Senior, Sam Reynolds from Connah’s Quay Town, young goalkeeper George Huyton and right-back Chris Bennett,
