NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE – CATCH-UP REPORTS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14

PREMIER DIVISION

Greenfield 3 Coedpoeth United 1

Two very late goals ensured Greenfield entered the Christmas period on a high note after recovering from one-down to beat Coedpoeth at the Bernie Williams Memorial Ground.
Kevin Breeze’s 16th minute goal handed United a half-time lead, but Bailey Roberts levelled on 77, then sub Evan Davies made it 2-1 with 90 gone and Sam Edwards added a third seconds later.

Hawarden Rangers 3 CPD Gronant 1

After a goalless first half, Matthew Birks put Hawarden in front on 64 minutes before Paul Lindfield missed a penalty after 67.
It looked like that error might prove costly when Shea Harding made it 1-1 in the 83rd minute.
However, Lindfield made up for the earlier miss by restoring Rangers’ lead on 87 and Joshua Robertson added a home third after 90 to seal the points.

Rhostyllen 1 Lex XI 3

Harry Massey delivered a double as Lex returned to top spot at the expense of hosts Rhostyllen.
Adam Williams struck first for the Law on 12 minutes, then Massey found the net after 28 and 59 before a Tomos Williams reply on 78 proved no more than a consolation,

Ruabon Rovers 6 FC Queen’s Park 3

Andrew Swarbrick was a hat-trick hero as Ruabon celebrated their first league win of the campaign at the 12th attempt by turning over the Park at the Recreation Ground.
Swarbrick found the net on 26, 87 and 88 minutes, while also on target were captain Peter Evans (2) and Joshua Hughes.
Ryan Jakovlevs (2) and Tony Jones hit back for the visitors.

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

Brymbo 0 Broughton United 3

This battle of the top-two saw leaders Broughton emerge victorious, making it 14 wins in 16 matches this term – and they are now five points clear at the summit.
All the goals came in the second half, Lewis Hopwood with two and Jake Selvester with a late third.

Deeside Dragons 0 Johnstown YFC 12

Robert Cooper (3), Callum Poole (2), Daniel Buck (2), Finnley Poole, Aled Parry, Dafydd Bailey-Williams and Ryan Hanmer shared the goals for the visitors.

Deeside United 0 Aston Park Rangers 9

William Weaver, James Redfern and Anthony Weaver all scored two apiece for dominant Aston, captain Rhys Jones, Goss Quinn and Lewis Jones adding a goal each.

CPD Sychdyn United 4 CPD Cei Connah 0

Harvey Hammersley (2), Kieran Jones and Joe Mitchell split the goals in this convincing victory for Sychdyn.

RESERVES DIVISION GROUP A

Cefn Albion Reserves 5 Penycae Reserves 3

Edgar Lima Teixeira hit four goals for Albion in their 5-3 win over Penycae.
Leighton Kendrick also netted for the Cefners, Elliott Kavanagh, Finn Williams and captain Josh Hughes for the visitors.

CPD Rhos Aelwyd Reserves 3 Llangollen Town Reserves 0

Morgan Jones (2) and Carwyn Davies did the business in front of goal for Rhos Aelwyd, whose MoM was Owen Jones.

Saltney Town Reserves 2 Ruthin Town Colts 1

Riley Hayden bagged a 93rd minute winner for the Bordermen.
George Lawton handed Ruthin a 28th minute lead before Cyprian Kulasza equalised on 63.

RESERVES DIVISION GROUP B

FC Queen’s Park Reserves 0 Connah’s Quay Town XI 11

Unbeaten leaders Town completely dominated at Queensway Stadium, Jon Tear-Edmonds, Lewis Harris and Jake Williams all pocketing hat-tricks, Aidan Raggett and Scott Gibbons contributing singles.

Lex Reserves 8 Brymbo Reserves 0

Eight was great for second-place Lex, Richie Jones with a treble, Michael Parry a pair and there was one each for Kieron Jones, Joshua Price and Philip Stott.
