Who has netted the most goals in North Wales women’s senior football in 2024?

Who else but Jess? Top goalscorer in North Wales women’s football for the year of 2024

Which players in North Wales women’s football have netted the most goals over the past 12 months?

The following list comprises senior goals scored in 2024 only

1 Jess Jones (Llangefni Town) 44 goals

No surprise here.
During 2024, the Gwalchmai Goal-Machine scored 24 times between January and May and added another 20 to her total from August to December.
In the entire 2023-24 season she netted 52, making her the Goalden Girl with the highest tally by a North Wales player in many years.
Jess’s 44 goals in 2024 came in just 22 games – an average of 2 a match. Phenomenal stuff.

2 = Jini Owen Hughes (Pwllheli)/ Ella Jones (Connah’s Quay Nomads/Llandudno) 29 goals

Both these youngsters made a massive impression over the past year.
Jini, 18, ended the 2023-24 season with 22 goals, helping Pwllheli to the North Wales League West Division title and the overall North Wales League championship.

Ella Jones

Ella, 20, contributed plenty of goals to Llandudno’s tier 2 Genero Adran North title success last season and this term has hit 18, 14 for Tudno and four so far for Nomads, who she joined in November.

4 Beth Roberts (Henllan) 27 goals

Beth Roberts (stripes)

All of this teenager’s goals have arrived since September, when she and her team Henllan made their North Wales football senior debuts.
Beth has knocked in 27 goals in just eight games across all competitions and 22 from five in the leagueunBETHlieveable!

5 = Polly Wild-McGregor (Connah’s Quay Nomads), Kelsey Davies (Llandudno) 25 goals

Two players of true quality are tied for fifth place in the 2024 goals chart.
Nomads skipper Polly has been magnificent all year, but especially effective this season with her 18 goals guiding unbeaten Nomads to top spot in Genero Adran North.

Kelsey was outstanding last season in Llandudno’s title success and has continued finding the net at a prolific rate in 2024-25, scoring 12 so far.

7 Zoe Stopford (Flint Town United) 23 goals

Zoe scores goals wherever she goes.
Before she joined Flint last season, she had a great record up front for Rhyl and Prestatyn, Holywell and NFA.
Between January and May this year, she hit 14 goals for the Silkwomen as they landed the North Wales East Division title with a perfect record.
Over the 2023-24 campaign as a whole, she netted 27 goals in 17 outings.
Zoe has added another nine goals since September. and is Flint’s current record all-time scorer with 36.

8 Ellie Coulson (Llangefni Town) 21 goals

Ellie (left) has been ultra-consistent in 2024

The ever-consistent Ellie is not just a fine goalscorer, but also a tremendous assistant thanks to her height and hold-up play.
Her 21 goals in 2024 have helped Llangefni win the Betty Pickering Cup and end the year top of the North Wales Women’s League West Division.
It shouldn’t be long before she becomes the third Cefni player to reach 50 career goals.

9 Laura Pratt (Airbus UK Broughton) 19 goals

Lively young forward Laura makes this list on her achievements this season, which so far amount to a brilliant 17 goals.
While impressive on many occasions previously in the tier 2 Genero Adran North, she is a real stand-out player in tier 3.

10 Lois Thomas (Pwllheli) 18 goals

‘Miss Consistency’ keeps getting the goals season after season.
We’ve established she’s definitely scored more than 100 for Pwllheli since 2016-17 and it is very likely the actual figure is nearer 150.
Her pace and finishing ability sets her a class apart, She scored GNW’s Goal of the Year for 2024 – an amazing piece of individual brilliance to win the North Wales League play-off final in extra time against Flint in May.

ON THE FRINGES – DOUBLE FIGURES IN 2024

So many brilliant players here, doing it for their clubs week in, week out.

15 – Seren Williams (Kinmel Bay)
13 – Rosie Hughes (Flint), Ceri Purvis (Denbigh Town), Fflur Williams (Felinheli), Jennifer Cox (Llangefni), Maddie Williams (Llandudno)
12 – Bethany Kell (Denbigh Town), Ellie Sian Jones (Felinheli). Rosie Hughes (Wrexham)

  • Keeping records like these is not always easy. Some clubs – and leagues – are very uncooperative.
If you know someone who should be on this list but isn’t, please let us know.
