Two major signings have been secured by CPDM Y Felinheli.
Nia Ginnelly and Ffion Thomas have left Llangefni Town and joined Aaron Jones-Evans’ Tier 2 Genero Adran North side.
Cefni are still a Tier 3 club and both Ginnelly and Thomas see a move to Cae Seilo as an opportunity to better themselves.
Midfielder Ginnelly, 31, had been an almost ever-present for Llangefni since the team re-formed in 2021, but both her and Thomas were on the bench in Town’s last game – a 6-0 victory over Amlwch on December 1.
Ginnelly had played in 79 of Llangefni’s 82 matches since the start of 2021-22, while winger Thomas made 56 appearances for the islanders, scoring 23 goals.
In the 2022-23 campaign, Thomas netted 17 league goals in 21 games.
Both new signings will boost a Felin side in need of a tonic after losing three of their four fixtures in Genero Adran North this season.
Commenting on the new faces, manager Jones-Evans said: “Everyone at the club are very excited to have Nia and Ffion involved in the squad, their qualities on and off the field are a big part of the reason we brought them into the fold.
“On the field Ffion’s eye for goal and Nia’s experience will add so much to this squad. As a manager I always look at character and personality traits before anything else and these two tick them boxes so I have no doubt that they will flourish in tier 2.
“Ffion is looking for opportunities to play her football and showcase her talents, Felin will give her them opportunities.
“Nia has done it all at tier 3 level, now she has the opportunity to bring her experience and leadership qualities into Tier 2.
“I am very confident that these two will add a lot to our ever growing squad and take us a step closer to where we are aiming to be.”
