MATCH REPORTS – NOVEMBER 29-30

Four-some Dylan Proctor made it 13 goals in 10 matches since joining 1879 and 12 in his last five appearances with a quadruple strike against outgunned Felinheli at the Hops and Barley Stadium.

Paul Moore and Ronnie Green’s Lilywhites edged back to second with a resounding win over opponents which had whipped high-flying Connah’s Quay Town 4-0 seven days earlier.

From the off it was clear Rhyl were up for it, Lewis Hudson twice showing early pace and skill to set up Jonny Bravo for opportunities he was not quite able to take.

A great move between Paul Fleming and Dylan Proctor saw the latter rattle the bar from the edge of the box.

Hudson then saw his close range effort saved by Marc Jones in the Felin goal, Jones would save again minutes later, thwarting Bravo.

The deadlock was finally broken on 27 minutes. Bravo finding Jason Foulkes on the overlap, and his cross was headed in by Proctor.

Five minutes later Tom Kemp picked the ball up in his own half and advanced before sending an exquisite pass into Proctor, who turned and fired past the motionless Jones.

After conceding twice the visitors started to come into the game in the latter stages of the first half, but the ever-present Reece Fairhurst and new defensive partner Kemp, accompanied by Calum Proctor and Billy Holmes,kept Felin at Bay.

Ten minutes into the second half Dylan Proctor turned provider as he set up for Bravo to fire in from the penalty spot for 3-0.
Substitute Alex Jones made an instant impact as he scored number four.

Alex Jones was supplier for the fifth goal, squaring the ball to Dylan Proctor, who completed his hat-trick.

Proctor added his fourth in added time, Foulkes with the assist.

Connah’s Quay Town 0 Holyhead Hotspur 2

Goals from Dylan Summers-Jones and Kenleigh Owen earned Hotspur the points at the Deeside Stadium.

It was a solid all-round display from Darren Garmey’s side, with the everywhere Jack Walsh especially outstanding.

Summers-Jones broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, while Owen added the second after 70.

Holyhead’s third straight league victory lifted them into fourth place.

Llannefydd 4 Menai Bridge Tigers 2

Llion Morris (2), Sam Jones and Michael Guest provided the goals which delivered three points for Llannefydd, Sion Hogan and Tom Parry replying for the Tigers.

Nantlle Vale 4 St Asaph City 3

Nantlle edged a seven-goal cracker at Maes Dulyn, Zac Pike (2), Kevin Lloyd (pen) and Llion Griffiths sharing the home tally, James Williams, Lee Jones and Ryan Potts running the Saints close.

Pwllheli 1 Llanrwst United 0

Ashley Ainsworth’s 45th minute goal from a Carl Jones assist proved sufficient to decide a close-fought battle in Pwllheli’s favour.

It was an eighth goal of the season for striker Ainsworth.

Trearddur Bay 3 Conwy Borough 2

Kian Hughes’ 91st minute net-finder clinched a dramatic victory for a Trearddur side which trailed 2-0 to lowly Conwy.

New signings Andrew Watkin and Lewis Brownson put Boro in command, scoring on 18 and 51 minutes respectively at Maes Cynlas.

It was not until the 69th minute that Anthony Marshall opened Bay’s account from a Toby Jones assist.

The unfortunate James Ethertington put through his own goal to make it 2-2 after 80, then with 91 on the clock, Casey Gregg set up Hughes, who joined from Bethesda Athletic in the summer, for the winner.

Tom Mann’s 15th minute goal was all that separated two in-form teams at Maes Tegid, Bala, on Friday night.

Llangefni Town 2 Porthmadog 4

Leaders Porthmadog ended the weekend with a six-point cushion after an impressive 4-2 away victory at fellow title hopefuls Llangefni on Friday night.

It looked to be nearly all over at half time as Port held a three-goal lead.

Danny Brookwell struck first on six minutes, then Rhys Alun converted penalties on 22 and 41.

Cefni needed to start the second half well to harbour any hope of a comeback and they did just that, Cameron Jones cutting the deficit to two goals on 52 minutes.

When Aron Hughes-Jones made it 3-2 in the 78th minute a very interesting finish was on the cards at Cae Bob Parry.

However, Josh Banks gave Port breathing space with a fourth goal for the visitors after 84 – and that was the decider.
