Match Analysis: Flint Town United v CPDM Y Felinheli (Adran North)

GENERO ADRAN NORTH
Flint Town United 4 (Stopford 34, 76, 81 & 90)
CPDM Y Felinheli 1 (Edwards 32)
While the final scoreline looks comfortable enough, today’s game was not a bonafide 4-1.
It was only in the last 15 minutes that Flint truly got on top and bagged the three goals which delivered them hard-earned maximum points.
Felinheli were the better team in the first half and deserved more than to be level at the break.
Flint really struggled to get going, did not manage an on-target effort until the 27th minute, and the visitors created most of the chances in that opening 45.
Felin were sharper to the ball, their passing was more penetrative and they constantly harrassed Flint into mistakes. The Silkwomen gave the ball away so often during the match, very uncharacteristic of them.

However, having got back on terms by the interval, the hosts were much improved in the second half, with the combination of Zoe Stopford and Rosie Hughes irresistable.
Zoe got the four goals, but Rosie provided three assists. This is a partnership which has lit up the Genero Adran North. No surprise the pair are Flint’s all-time leading scorers.
As for new signing Shona Roberts, it was as close to the perfect debut as you could get.
An awesome presence at the back and confident and assured in everything she did, the 23-year-old will become a major asset to the Flint defence.

Despite the final score, Felinheli never gave up. Even in the final minute, they were in the Flint box pressing for a goal and would have grabbed one but for the heroics of Becky Bott.
Felin also had a couple of handball shouts which could have affected the game if just one had gone their way.
Aaron Jones-Evans’ side were very strong and efficient today, on another day they could have got something, but instead this was an afternoon where Flint’s shining stars glistened brightly and made a massive difference.
When you have a Rosie Hughes or a Zoe Stopford in your side, you are never without a chance.
