Llysfaen Football Club have appointed James Sweetman as their new manager.
He replaces Dan Ashton, who stepped down last month.
Sweetman’s previous managerial experience includes spells at Glan Conwy and Rhuddlan Town.
In 2022-23, he took charge at Glan Conwy when the club was in crisis and would probably have folded had Sweetman not kept things afloat.
Llysfaen, who compete in tier 5 North Wales Coast League East Division One, released the following statement at the weekend: “After our meeting with James Sweetman it was, after much deliberation with regards to the options available to us, the right decision to appoint him as first team manager.
“He came highly recommended and we’re sure James can bring stability to the club as well as the results the club is striving for. It’s so important now that the committee, players and supporters get behind James and the club and move forward to the next level.
“On behalf of the club we wish James every success at Llysfaen Football Club.”
The club committee is working hard to access grants which would enable it to upgrade facilities at its Bananabeu base. Any offers of help would be much appreciated. Contact the club on its social media channels.
