NWCFA Junior Cup semi-finalists Caergybi have re-signed two experienced players who are sure to strengthen their squad for the testing months ahead.

Midfielder George Hibbert and versatile Stephan Driedyk are both back with a club the pair have previously served with distinction.

The 32-year-old Hibbert has split his football career mainly between Trearddur Bay, representing them when they carried the names United and Bulls, as well as Caergybi.

In the early past of last season, he lent his experience to the Trearddur Bay Development side.

A Caergybi statement said: “We are delighted to announce the return of George Hibbert.

“Hib is a quality midfielder and we were gutted to lose him a couple of seasons back, but he’s been watching us lately and has the bug back and we are delighted he’s back

“Hib is a tough-tackling midfielder who breaks the play down and makes the game look easy. He’s a great addition to the team and we can’t wait to see him back in the kit.”

Stephan Driedyk

Driedyk, 42, also helped out Trearddur Bay Development towards the back end of last season and, like Hibbert, has divided his time in recent seasons between Bay and Caergybi.

Caergybi’s management added: “A massive signing for the club, Steve is a fantastic player who will add quality and experience to the team

“He’s a CM, but he can play in many other areas, is good on the ball and hard into a tackle and I’m sure he will chip in with the goals again

“He’s another who left us a couple seasons back because of other commitments, but is back now

“We hope he will be a big player for us this season and help us push on in the cup and up the league. We can’t wait for him to get started.”
