NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE REPORTS – NOVEMBER 2

Premier Division

Plas Madoc have withdrawn from the league hence their results have been expunged and a revised table published.

Hawarden Rangers 1 Coedpoeth United 2

Coedy’s young side battled hard for an excellent away win in a very competitive game
Defences were on top in the first half on a tight pitch with little room for players to express themselves.
The second half saw Coedpoeth start brightly and break through via Ollie Lewis’ pinpoint cross from the right finding Adam Lloyd, whose bullet header made it 1-0.
Hawarden battled back with a corner on 58 minutes enabling captain Ellis Jones to score with a simple nod in.
The hard-working Ollie Lewis, however, got rewards for his graft on the hour when he blocked an attempted clearance from keeper Jay-Jay Bell and the ball found the net.
Hawarden huffed and puffed but couldn’t break Coedy’s resilient defence and near full time Ollie Lewis broke free only to be hauled down when through on goal by sub Jonathan Gorman, who was shown a red card.

CPD Gronant 1 FC Queen’s Park 1

Adam Woosey handed Gronant a seventh-minute lead, but Ben White replied with 41 gone to earn the Park a point.
Gronant’s Stephen Lee was red-carded on 70 minutes.

Penyffordd Lions 5 Greenfield 2

Coby Peters and Paul Messham scored two apiece and sub Alister Randles added another in a home win for Penyffordd, Owen Davies and Ethan Evans responding for Greenfield, who had Darren Johns dismissed on 53 minutes.

Rhostyllen 8 Ruabon Rovers 0

Doubles from Liam Sklenar, Tom Williams and Tom Douglas led the way as Rhostyllen hit eight against outgunned visitors Ruabon.
Cole Bagnall and Adam Williams also struck for the hosts, whose player of the match was Aayron Rafferty.
The club congratulates captain Drew Wickens and partner Meg on the birth of their baby Nansi.

Championship Division

Acton 2 Johnstown YFC 4

Hat-trick hero Callum Poole guided Johnstown to victory, sub Rob Cooper also on the mark.
All that after the visitors had Dwayne Jones red-carded in just the sixth minute.
Niall Challoner replied with a double for the hosts.

Brymbo 16 Bellevue 0

Toby Hughes (4), Tom Potts (3), Jack Smallman (3), Evan Davies (2), plus one each from Joe French, Ross Sinclair, Shane Wellings and Darren Mbele made up new leaders Brymbo’s huge goals total, while Harry Wood delivered no less than SEVEN assists.

Deeside Dragons 0 Aston Park Rangers 6

James Redfern and captain Adam Randles bagged a brace apiece for the visitors, Rhys Lloyd Jones and Niall Moloney adding singles.
Rangers led just 1-0 at half time. In the second half, Daniel Riley missed a penalty for the hosts.

Skippy 0 Rhydymwyn 11

Craig Worthington was a six-goal star for Rhydymwyn at Bellevue Park.
Dylan Roberts (2), Rhys Parry, Alistair Gibson and Connor Davies supplied the rest.

Reserve Division Group A

Llangollen Town Reserves 3 Cefn Albion Reserves 1

Goals from Sam Antrobus (2) and Leighton Jones won the day for Llangollen, Kos Jones replying with a spot-kick for Albion, who had sub Thomas Evans red-carded after only seven minutes.

Penycae Reserves 3 Mynydd Isa Reserves 3

A 95th minute penalty equaliser from Eliiott Kavanagh rescued a point for Penycae.
The hosts had Scott Abram-Evans red-carded on just four minutes after which Jack Casey and Kobie Betts handed the visitors a two-goal lead.
Pen pulled one back through Charlie Nield before half time and equalised through the same player early after the restart, only for Hari Pritchard to restore Mynydd Isa’s advantage with a 58th minute net-finder.
It looked like that would be the winner until Kavanagh delivered late from the spot.

Morgan Jones, Dan Harrison and Carwyn Davies were the scorers for winners Rhos.

Saltney Town Reserves 2 Corwen Reserves 1

Sean Williams and sub Daniel Clewley grabbed the goals which clinched the points for the Bordermen, veteran Wes Brereton on the mark for Corwen.

Reserve Division Group B

Connah’s Quay Town XI 5 Coedpoeth United Reserves 1

Lewis Harris (2), Jake Williams (pen), Damon Bradley and Jon Tear-Edmonds shared the goals as unbeaten Town established a nine-point lead at the summit.
Nick McCormwick had earlier given Coedpoeth an early lead.

FC Queen’s Park Reserves 1 Castell Alun Colts Reserves 5

Elliott Moore (2), Kieran Edwards, Daniel Herdman and Luke Hooper split the goals for the travellers, Liam Jones with the Park’s sole reply.

Greenfield Reserves 2 Penyffordd Lions Reserves 1

Good win for Greenfield sealed by net-busters from Corey Kennedy and Owen Evans, Paul Jones converting a prnalty for the visitors.

Johnstown YFC Reserves 1 Lex Reserves 6

Michael Parry was a hat-trick star for a ruthless Lex.
Phil Stott, Alex Sheriff and sub Tiler Moorcroft-Jones were also on the mark, Dewi Reeves with a consolation for Johnstown.
