NWCFA Intermediate Cup: Bethesda Athletic, Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan reach semis

Noa Hughes netted his third hat-trick of the season for victorious Bethesda Athletic

Three of the four semi-finalists in the 2024-25 NWCFA Intermediate Cup are now known.

Bethesda Athletic, Llanfairfechan Town and Penmaenmawr Phoenix will be joined by either holders Gwalchmai or Cemaes Bay in the last four.

QUARTER-FINAL REPORTS – OCT 25-26

Bethesda Athletic 5 Llandudno Junction 0

One of North Wales’ most in-form strikers helped Bethesda coast into the Intermediate Cup semis with a hat-trick at Parc Meurig.

Noa Hughes, 19, boosted his season’s goals total with 24 with a dynamic treble which sank the Junction.

With Pesda top of the tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division with a 100 percent record of nine straight wins, but Junction also flying high in the NWC East Premier, a close quarter-final was expected on Saturday.

However, there was no stopping Mark N Hughes’ Athletic charges making it five cup-tie wins in a row.

Osian Hughes opened the scoring in the second minute from a Joe Todd assist before Noa Hughes converted from the penalty spot on 19.

Noa Hughes struck again four minutes before the interval, Scott Hughes helping set him up.

And Noa Hughes turned provider for Kyle Hartleb to make it 4-0 to the hosts on 68.

The unstoppable Noa Hughes rounded things off in style with a 75th minute fifth.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 6 Bow FC 0

Daniel Williams was a four-goal star for a Phoenix outfit which proved too strong for a Bow team they were meeting for the first time.

Although both sides compete in the North Wales Coast East Premier, Pen were too good for their visitors on the day.

Williams struck on 1, 49, 61 (penalty) and 69 minutes, Ben Jarvis (25) and Paddy Hold (76) also making the scoresheet.

Llandudno Amateurs 1 Llanfairfechan Town 3

Llanfairfechan became the first team to reach the Intermediate Cup semi-finals after an excellent win at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Friday night.

Town took the lead in the 31st minute when long-serving defender Curtis Murray found the net from an Elliot Croston assist.

Ellis Jones added a second for the visitors on 39 to make it 2-0 at half time.

Llanfair put one foot firmly into the last four when Harry Croston made it 3-0 with 73 on the clock.

Ryan Boddis replied for the Amateurs on 86, but it was too late to alter the outcome.
