Tonight’s draw for the NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup has raised some confusion.

Holders Gwalchmai were called as one of the semi-finalists, yet their quarter-final versus Cemaes Bay has still not been played.

The Anglesey pair were due to meet at Maes Meurig on October 26, but the game was postponed.

No reason was published by the North Wales Coast FA, nor has any rescheduled date for the match been announced.

This evening’s semi-final draw saw Gwalchmai land a home tie with Penmaenmawr Phoenix, while Llanfairfechan Town will host Bethesda Athletic.

Both Cemaes Bay and Gwalchmai are believed to be in ongoing discussions with the NWCFA over the situation.

The NWCFA have been approached for comment.

In the meantime, here is the semi-final draw (ties to be played January 25, 2025)

Gwalchmai v Penmaenmawr Phoenix
