NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – OCTOBER 4 AND 5 REPORTS

Premier Division

Coedpoeth United 1-1 Rhostyllen

Jack Massey’s 93rd minute equaliser rescued a point for Coedpoeth.
Rhostyllen had earlier taken the lead through a Kevin Roberts goal with 19 on the clock.

Greenfield 2-0 FC Queen’s Park

Nine-man Greenfield moved up to second with victory over Wrexham visitors Queen’s Park.
Jack Pennington handed the hosts a 38th minute lead and Connor Hughes sealed the points with a second home goal on 91.
The Holywell-area side had Ethan Evans dismissed for a second yellow on 68 and keeper Connor Griffiths was shown a straight red after 78.
Liam Lawrence was red-carded for the Park, also on 78.

Saltney Town 3-2 Hawarden Rangers

Sub Rowan Burdsall snatched a 90th minute winner for Saltney in a hard-fought battle between two sides relegated from tier 3 last season.
Connor Parry put Hawarden in front on eight minutes, but Riley Hayden levelled after 25 and Leon Flatman made it 2-1 to the Borderman with 40 gone.
Sub Haydn Cartwright equalised for Rangers on 73, but Flatman set up Burdsall for that late clincher.

Championship Division

Aston Park Rangers 12-0 Bellevue

Jonny Crossley hit four, James Redfern a hat-trick and sub Anthony Weaver also netted three times, one a penalty, as Aston delivered a dozen against Bellevue.
Karl Lloyd and captain Adam Randles added a single each.

Broughton United 4-0 CPD Sychdyn United

Leaders Broughton made it nine wins in 11 outings at the expense of Sychdyn, captain Elliott Evans, Ethan Evans, Harrison Kelley and a Callum Hughes own goal making up their total.
Sychdyn skipper Ross Walker was shown a second yellow after 80.

Brymbo 20-1 Deeside United

Jack Smallman (5), sub Evan Davies (4), captain Tom Potts (3), Nathan Prince (2), and a goal apiece from Joseph French, Matthew Rees, Darren Mbele, Brandon Jones, Niall Roberts and Ieuan Rowe made up Brymbo’s 20.
Bailey Hamilton bagged a solitary reply for the Dragons when the Steelmen were just three-up.

Cefn Druids 0-4 Johnstown YFC

Dwayne Jones (2), Aaron Filmer and Callum Poole split the goals in this Johnstown victory.

CPD Cei Connah 7-7 Skippy

Seven-all draws have probably not happened very often in North Wales football.
However, if such a scoreline was to occur, the Championship would be many people’s choice as the ideal candidate.
For Cei Connah, Luke Williams (2), Scott Roberts, Andrew Hornsby, Oliver Rathbone-Jones, Paddy Sam Jones and Arkadiusz Mikula made up their septet, while for Skippy, Nathan Gregory hit four, Taylor Edwards and Joao Da Silva notched one apiece, and an N/A also made the scoresheet.

Deeside Dragons 1-3 Overton Recreation

Mark Matthews (2) and sub Paul Edwards supplied the goals which won the day for Overton, Luke Norry replying.

Holywell United 3-0 Acton

Three points for United thanks to a Tomos Dickinson double and Owen Marley strike.

NEWFA Reserve Cup

Castell Alun Colts Reserves 4-0 Penyffordd Lions Reserves

Daniel Herdman, Jack Turnbull, Robert Percesepe and sub Jamie Hardy (penalty) combined to ensure Casty advanced.

Corwen Reserves 4-3 Brickfield Rangers Reserves

Corwen edged a seven-goal struggle thanks to Harry Pooler (2), William Hughes and Ben Davies (pen), Jack Hanley (pen), Joisa Fernandes and Joel Edwards responding.

Lex Reserves 3-2 Cefn Albion Reserves

Phil Stott, veteran Alan Huxley and match-winner George Baxter were on the mark for the Law, Kos Jones and Heitor Leitao for Albion.

Penycae Reserves 0-5 Connah’s Quay Town XI

Jon Tear-Edmonds (3), Scott Gibbons and Damon Bradley guided Town into the next stage.

Ruthin Town Colts 1-1 Hawarden Rangers Reserves (Ruthin won 5-3 on pens)

This one stood at 1-1 after 90 minutes, 17-year-old Harri Lewis-Jones edging Colts in front on 81 only for Sam Fielder Shaw to level with 86 on the clock.
Pens were needed to settle it and Ruthin prevailed 5-3.

NEWFA Premier Cup

CPD Gronant 4-1 Castell Alun Colts

Matt Gilsenan (2), Dylan Taylor and Mason Lowery shared the goals in Gronant’s triumph, Ray Jones with the only reply for Casty.

NEWFA Reserve Division Group B

Johnstown YFC Reserves 4-1 Brymbo Reserves

Liam Jones (3, 1 pen) and Robert Cooper secured victory for Johnstown, Jordan Waite with a consolaton for the Steelmen.

NEWFL The Two Counties Cup

CPD Yr Wyddgrug 0-6 Rhydymwyn

Six on the road for Rhyd, Thomas Chamberlain (2), Levon Hughes, Kallum Pierce, Tomos Cumming and Declan O’Connor all making the scoresheet.
