Ella Jones scored four goals for the second week running as champions Llandudno claimed early leadership of the Genero Adran North with victory over newcomers Flint at Go Goodwins Stadium.

Tudno had the game pretty much won by the interval with a 4-0 lead, but the visitors fought back well to lose the second half just 2-1.

Ella Jones opened the scoring on four minutes from a Kelsey Davies assist.

Youngster Angharad Jones made it 2-0 after 22, Erin Doran helping set her up and Ella Jones added number three on the half hour.

Just before the break, Ella Jones completed another hat-trick – her seventh for the club.

Jones does not just score from close range. On 70 minutes she bagged her fourth of the day and 12th of the season with a stunner from 30 yards.

Flint never stopped working hard and were rewarded for their efforts when Ruby Hastings pulled a goal back – a fabulous screamer.

However, the title holders had the last word when Jasmin Dutton made it 6-1 with a back-post finish.

In his final after-match interview before stepping down, Llandudno manager Billy Fuller said:

“Missing a few players again due to unavailability, Llandudno took to the field against a quick, energetic Flint side.

“Llandudno controlled the match and had the majority of the possession and Ella scored her first in the 4th minute with a through ball from Kelsey. Ella shaped her body extremely well and from a wide angle found the far corner.

“Llandudno kept the pressure on, however Flint dealt with the dangerous Kelsey on the wing and tried to close the gaps in the defensive central areas. In the 22nd minute, Erin found Angharad who lost her marker, shot across the oncoming keeper and scored her first ever career league goal.

“In the 29th minute, Erin found Ella who was crowded by 3 players. Through pure physical effort and a willingness to get forward she managed to break through the attention and dispatch past the oncoming keeper; a truly gutsy goal.

“In the 38th minute, Jas, who had controlled the middle of the park with Erin, found Ella in space on the left who scored her third of the game and added another hat-trick to her name. Half time, Llandudno 4 up.

“In the second half, again Llandudno controlled possession and managed the game against a fit Flint side who chased after everything with gusto. It took till the 70hh minute when Maddie, current Cymru North Player of the Year, found Ella. Ella unleashed from 25-30 yards out and found the top corner; another fantastic personal goal.

“In the 77th minute Flint broke and took the chance clinically, Ruby Hastings, dispatching it past the oncoming keeper from 25 yards.

“Five minutes later Erin delivered a lovely corner where Jas nonchalantly volleyed it into the bottom corner. After threatening to score earlier in the game, it was just rewards for Jas, who like an ageing wine just gets better and better.

“The game then continued at the same pace until full time where it finished 6-1 to Llandudno.

“I thought Flint’s captain (Ruby McGilloway) set the tone for her side – very energetic and was on it for the full 90. I also thought Rosie (Hughes) played extremely well.

“After full time I announced to the girls that this would be my last game due to commitments and the like that go with managing a football side. The girls, no matter what 11 bar 45 minutes against CQ, have gone out this season have enjoyed their football and imposed themselves on the opposition. I am fiercely proud of the girls and hope to see continued success from afar.

“Any pre-conceptions I previously had about women’s football 2 years ago have firmly been quashed. I can truly say it’s been amazing at Llandudno and the talent on offer is ridiculous. Good luck for the rest of the season while I concentrate on being a better husband and father.”
