Rhyl Mens welcomed Chester 5s for the first home game of the season and played out an 8-goal cracker in what can only be described as a topsy turvy game!
Dougie Lonsdale opened the scoring for the hosts with a well worked goal. Chester then equalised not long after.
Edd Jones got the second goal – his first for the club. Not long after Chester levelled again to make it 2-2.
Andy Ollies scored on the brink of half time with a shot squeezing past the keeper’s legs.
After the break, Rhyl were awarded a short corner. The initial shot was saved by the keeper, but Xander Whelan-Clark was quick onto the rebound, slotting the ball close from range.
However, the visitors managed to remain on terms, bringing it back to 4-4.
The remaining part of the match saw Rhyl keep knocking on the door but the Chester keeper kept them in the game with some good saves.
It was a match played in good spirit.
Rhyl go again this weekend away against Wrexham Glyndwr
