NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – SEPTEMBER 14

Premier Division

Greenfield 0-2 Lex XI

Lex became new leaders of the Premier Division last weekend.
Goals from Cam Thomas and Kian Davies clinched the Law a great win at Greenfield after a strong performance by Ricky Evans’ side.
Man of the match was Josh Betteley, outstanding in midfield breaking up the opponents’ play.

Coedpoeth United 2-2 Castell Alun Colts

Added time goals from Jack Massey and Nathan Roberts earned Coedpoeth a dramatic point.
Casty looked in command after Craig Worthington put them ahead on four minutes and Niall Evans doubled the lead after 56, but a missed penalty from Colts’ Stuart McHarrie kept the door open for the hosts.
And they stormed back for a draw when Massey struck on 94 minutes and Roberts levelled with 99 gone.

CPD Gronant 3-2 Ruabon Rovers

Mason Lowry, Aidan Bell and an Adam Woosey penalty were enough to seal victory for Gronant, replies from Owen Bather and sub Rhys Garrett running the visitors close.

Hawarden Rangers 1-3 FC Queen’s Park

The Park rose to third after a fine result at second-place Hawarden.
Sean Skimmings (2) and sub Adam Roberts banked the points for travellers, Ellis Jones with a consolation for Rangers.

Saltney Town 0-2 Penyffordd Lions

Callum Webber and Alister Randles pocketed the second half goals which condemned Saltney to a seventh loss in eight starts.

Championship Division

Acton 2-4 CPD Yr Wyddgrug

Seb Kidd edged Acton two-up with his 21st and 22nd goals of the season, but Yr Wyddgrug turned the tables to win with strikes from Jordan Lomas, Jack Leonard Gill, Lewis James and sub Henry Jones.

Aston Park Rangers 3-2 Johnstown YFC

Matthew Leedham’s 85th minute net-finder booked the points for Aston Park.
It was Leedham’s second of the game, with Karl Lloyd also on target for the hosts, Rowan Birch and Dwayne Jones responding.

Bellevue 0-6 Rhydymwyn

Comfortable for third-place Rhydymwyn, Kallum Pierce (2), Aaron North, Alastair Gibson, captain Connor Davies and Tom Chamberlain splitting the goals.

Broughton United 4-1 Holywell United

Hat-trick hero Jake Jones inspired leaders Broughton to victory, one of his goals coming via the penalty spot.
Sub Oliver Marple added a single for the hosts, Owen Marley netting from the spot for United.

Brymbo 2-2 CPD Sychdyn United

Brymbo rallied from two goals down to earn a point against 10-man Sychdyn.
Kieran Jones and Ryan Walters had the away side two-up just after the hour.
However, with 66 gone, first-half scorer Jones was shown a red card and Brymbo took advantage of the extra man to level through Brandon Jones and sub Tomos Fenton.

CPD Cei Connah 4-2 Deeside Dragons

Arkadiusz Mikula (2) and Luke Williams were among the home scorers in this victory, Luke Norry bagging one for the visitors.

Overton Recreational 9-1 Deeside United

Peter Thedens, Mark Matthews and sub Joshua Underwood notched two apiece for Overton, Matty Tombs, captain Alex Williams and Oliver Nelson with the rest, captain Kian Jones responding.

Skippy 3-6 Cefn Druids

Two goals each from Bradley Dobson and Jack Orbell, plus singles via Dan Davies and Tomos Waters secured the win for Druids, Adam Hughes among the home hitmen.

Reserve Division Group A

CPD Rhos Aelwyd Reserves 4-2 Cefn Albion Reserves

Edward Neale (2), Carwyn Davies and Steffan Williams supplied the home goals, Kos Jones and Josh Foulkes for the Albion.

Ruthin Town Colts 6-2 Hawarden Rangers Reserves

Harri Lewis-Jones (2), Huw lLloyd, Jayden Parry, Owen Davies and Declan Irvine brought up the six for Ruthin, Ewan Jones and Lee King-Magee the away marksmen.

Reserve Division Group B

Coedpoeth United Reserves 1-4 Lex Reserves

Phil Stott, Michael Parry, Alex Sheriff and George Baxter found the net for winners Lex, Kevin Breeze with Coedy’s reply.

FC Queen’s Park Reserves 3-4 Greenfield Reserves

Greenfield edged this one despite finishing with nine men compared to the Park’s 10.
Owen Evans, Owen Jeffrey and captain Jack Gilmore were among the away scorers, captain Adam Roberts, Michael Jones and Liam Lawrence for the Park.
Greenfield had Jack Stevens red-carded on 64 and Dylan Pugh sent off for a second yellow after 80. Adam Roberts saw red for the hosts on 36.

Johnstown YFC Reserves 1-4 Connah’s Quay Town XI

Jon Tear-Edmonds (2), Kieran Bennion and Jake Williams nabbed the goals that mattered for Town, Levi Challoner for the home team.

Penyffordd Lions Reserves 0-1 Castell Alun Colts Reserves

Kacper Wojciech bagged the winning goal on 25 minutes for Casty at the expense of Penyffordd, who had Jay Vaughan red-carded after 46.
