Trearddur Bay Development 6 CPD Pwllheli – tim datblygu 0

On a very emotional afternoon Trearddur Bay Development put on a performance their former player Mike Davies would have been immensely proud of.

A special tribute took place before the game to Mike, a multi trophy-winning skipper with Trearddur Bay FC, who sadly passed away on August 23 aged just 44.

Mike’s family led a procession of honour onto the field at Lon Isallt for the much-loved defender before gathering around the centre circle for a minute’s silence.

Bay Development manager Scott Hakesley wrote: “A emotional but heartfelt day at the Bay. We welcomed roughly 300 people to our first home game of the season as paid our respects to a team mate a friend, a loved one and to many a legend of the club.

“Mike Davies will live long in the memories of so many as a warrior on the pitch and a true gentleman off it.

“After we paid our respects it was hard to understand the emotions the players were going through.
“Just before the kick off our captains TC and Jake called the team in to put their game faces on, and that is exactly what they did from the first minute to the last – the whole squad was ready.

” I think all will agree we witnessed a truly dedicated performance from all and I for one, was super proud how the young men turned it on.

“From the off we were on the front foot with Jenson Rowlands scoring our first quickly followed by Cameron Buckley.

“Half time and probably the first time since taking charge I haven’t shouted, as I couldn’t add or take anything away from that first 45 minutes.

“Only words were not to let off the pace and see it through and the lads went out for the second half determined to put on a show and straight away James Leatherbarrow, who worked so hard all day, got his goal on 48 minutes quickly followed by Casey Gregg.

“Our inter-changing link up play was taking its toll on Pwllheli as Cameron was finding endless pockets and netted his second of the game. Into the 60th minute and keep ball was key, Lennon rounding off a great display of football by these young lads with goal number six.

“The game finished 6-0 but without doubt Pwllheli played their part, bringing out the best in us.

“I’d also like to add how respectful Pwllheli were as a club, paying their own respects on the day and us as a club appreciate them so thank you.

“RIP Mikey love ya bud hope we did you proud 💔”
