Ceri Pritchard saved two penalties in a shoot-out to help Amlwch of tier 3 knock higher-league side Rhyl out of the Coast Cup at Lon Bach on Wednesday night.

Tesni Hughes’ goal after 19 minutes was enough to give the Anglesey side a one-goal interval lead.

Amlwch went two-up on 68 minutes through debutant Charlotte Bradshaw and the visitors were really up against it after Lauren Jones was red-carded on 73.

Yet Chelsea Evans immediately halved the deficit and Rosie O’Brien netted in injury time to force penalties.

However, after Pritchard’s two stops, Bethan Jones stepped up to win the shoot-out 4-3 for the islanders.

Llangefni fought back from a goal down to edge past Bangor at Cae Bob Parry.

After a goalless first half, Ashleigh Jones nudged the visitors in front two minutes after the restart.

Cefni levelled after 56 through Ffion Owen and Catrin George notched what turned out to be the decider on 63.

CPDM Y Felinheli 2 CPD Pwllheli 1

Holders Y Felinheli trailed 1-0 at half time, but fought back to see off the strong challenge of Pwllheli at Treborth, Bangor.

The visitors took a 35th minute lead via a Jody Cain own goal, leaving Felin with plenty to do in the second half.

Five minutes after the resumption, the hosts were level when Jenna Allsup made the most of a Cain assist.

And a minute later Fflur Williams grabbed Felin’s second goal.

That was how the match ended, a hard-earned win for a home team which gave debuts to Llywela Edwards and Ellie Sian Jones, while for Pwll, Elena Julio made her first appearance since October last year as a second-half outfield substitute.
