NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS – AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND
MONDAY, AUGUST 26

DIVISION ONE
Bethesda (15) 157-1 Abergele (0) 151-10
Openers Matthew Harrington and Carwyn L Williams both scored half-centuries as second-place Bethesda romped to a nine-wicket win over Abergele on Monday.
Gele won the toss, elected to bat, and were bowled out for 151, having been 20-4 early on.
Richard Lee Williams took 3-15 off nine and Andrew Day 3-37 for the hosts, who reached 157-1 off 26.4 overs, Harrington 64 and captain Williams 58 not out, for a 15-0 points victory.
Conwy (11) 193-10 Connah’s Quay (4) 176-9
Good contest at Bodlondeb ended in a 17-run triumph for Conwy.
The hosts opted to bat and were all out for 193 in 44 overs, Evan Williams and extras sharing top-score on 33, Mali Auty 3-52 for the visitors, who were then limited to 176-9 with Tom Hooson unable to bat.
Brody Camp made 59, Lee Davies 39 not out and skipper Darren Leach 37, Tom Plank snapping up 4-37 and Evan Williams 3-22 for the home side.
Halkyn (14) 163-8 Mold (1) 81-10
Ben Roberts had an amazing day, scoring a half-ton and taking five wickets for Halkyn in a superb home success over Mold.
Roberts topped the chart with 58 as the hosts were restricted to 163-8 off 45, Isaac Allen picking up 3-40 for the visitors, who were then blitzed out for just 81. Roberts bagged 5-22 from nine, James Beresford 2-6 and Sam Hamilton 2-16.
Hawarden Park (11) 150-7 Brymbo 2nd XI (4) 149-9
Victory by just a single run for Hawarden in a thriller at Moor Lane.
Park set 150-7 off 45, Evan Shaw 58, Gareth Pugh 3-46 for the Steelmen, who ended agonisingly close to the winning post on 159-9.
Opener Sam Aplin made 58 for the visitors, putting on 80 for the first wicket with Pugh (25), Campbell Marr 3-26 and Philip Bradfield 2-16 for the Park.
Northop 2nd XI (14) 125-2 Buckley (1) 124-10
With a 31-point lead at the summit and four rounds of matches to go, champions-elect Northop 2nds took a big step towards the title with an eight-wicket beating of Buckley.
Tom Sudder nabbed 4-16 as the hosts sent Bucks packing for 124, Josh Griffiths 2-22 and Joe Griffiths 2-23, and Northop required just 19.4 overs to reach 125-2, Charlie Collins 56 not out.
Pontblyddyn (4) 207-5 Dolgellau (11) 210-8
Dolgellau’s Sion Francis struck a crucial 76 not out as the visitors edged home by a two-wicket margin in the final over at Alder Meadow.
Pont posted a formidable 207-5, Gethin Thomas 79 not out and Nick Thomas 50, Lafras Van Vuuren 3-29 for the away side, who made it to 210-8 off 44.1, Francis’ main innings well supported by Van Vuuren (39), Rhys Jones 2-26 and Ryan White 2-27 for the hosts.

DIVISION TWO
Bangor 2nd XI (15) 173-0 Llay Welfare (0) 169-9
Chris Barry and Jamie Davies both scored 76 not out in leading Bangor seconds to a crushing 10-wicket win at home to Llay.
The visitors were kept down to 169-9 off 40 overs, Jack Edwards 59, Hari Griffith Williams 4-46 and Gareth Edwards 3-36 for the Citizens, who then needed just two batsmen to guide them to victory.
Bersham (2) 140-10 St Asaph 2nd XI (13) 141-5
Hosts Bersham were dismissed for 140, Venkata Kanyadari 44, David North 3-19 and Chetan Upadhyaya 3-30 for the visitors, who then clinched victory on 141-5, Tim Cloete 33 not out, Jagath Magulagama 2-20 for the Colliers.
Carmel and District (8) 153-7 Mochdre 2nd XI (8) 153-8 – TIED

James Gilman hit 43 as Mochdre seconds posted 153-8 at Pen-y-Gelli, Amer Jamil 3-21 and Lee Rowles 2-12 from eight for the home side, whose response ended on 153-7, two scored off the final ball, thus a tie was the outcome, Jeivishnu Prithivaraj 45 for Carmel, Munim Khan 2-28 for the travellers.
Corwen (2) 139-7 Gresford 2nd XI (13) 190-10
Skipper Danny Griffin (64) and Robert Clark (41) guided a Gresford seconds team which was put into bat to concoct a winning total of 190, William Pooler a magical 5-19 for the hosts, who could only muster 139-7 in reply, Simon Harrison 52 not out and skipper William Pooler 33, visiting bowler Gez Jones scooping 3-20.
Menai Bridge 2nd XI (12) 120-7 Llanrwst (3) 119-10
A hard-earned three-wicket victory for the Bridge at Tyn-y-Caeau Drive.
Nic Bould led the way with 35 in the Rwsters’ vulnerable-looking effort of 119 all out, John Duffy 4-19 and Phil Smith 2-17 for the islanders, who hit back with 120-7, Edward Gadsby 48, Dewi Parry 2-20 and Aron Hughes 2-22.

DIVISION THREE
Buckley 2nd XI (0) 122-10 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (15) 251-5
Martin Hinton (64), skipper Haseeb Hanif Bikya (60 not out) and Luke Bennett (31) did most to ensure Park set a winning figure of 251-5, Elen Weigh 2-26 and Tom Pool 2-33 for the hosts, who were all out for 122, Jon Whitnall 46, Ahmed Javed 4-24 and Jack Williams 4-28 for the victors.
Clwb Criced Caernarfon (12) 210-4 Halkyn 2nd XI (3) 173-8
Runs galore for victorious Caernarfon as Mohsin Khan (76), Monis Altaf (55), Steffan Roberts (38) and Paul Williams (30 no) combined to set an imposing 210-4 off 40 overs, Halkyn 2nds offering 173-8 in response, Shaun Gibson (63 no) and Finlay Rooke-Hart (39), Jonathan Peris-Jones 3-38 and Simon Davis 2-34 for the Cofis.
Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (2) 165-10 Bethesda 2nd XI (13) 167-4
An unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 83 between opener Jez Shea (59 no) and Gethin Hughes (39 no) was key in steering Bethesda to a six-wicket triumph.
Quay were all out for 165, Liam Cappiello 30, Gethin Hughes 3-32 and Dylan Hughes 3-47 for the visitors, who made it to 167-4 in 33.1.
Denbigh 2nd XI (12) 111-6 Conwy 2nd XI (3) 110-9
Conwy recorded a weak-looking 110-9 off 40, Bailey Davies 33, Josh Jones 3-15, Umer Farrukh 2-14 and Joe Threlfall 2-18 for the hosts, who reached the winning line at 111-6, openers Ethan Botterill (33) and Farrukh (31) the most effective, Davies 4-21 for the away side.
Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (14) 212-5 Ruthin (1) 116-8
Fifties from Shashika Meistry and Jack Watkins did much to enable Gwersyllt Park seconds to amass a big enough score to thrash former division leaders Ruthin.
Meistry retired hurt on 54, Watkins posted 52 no and Cai Pearson added 41 in Park’s 212-5, Jonny Clayton 2-28 for the visitors, who were restircted to just 116-8, Joshua Duckworth 30, home bowler Michael Griffiths 4-20, Cai Pearson 2-14 and Ryan McCarthy 2-15.
Mold 2nd XI (3) 155-10 Pwllheli (12) 157-6
Opener Daniel Pigott was chief contributor with 56 as Division Three leaders Pwllheli celebrated a four-wicket win at Chester Road.

David Holmes’ impressive 61 helped Abergele seconds register a winning total at Pentre Mawr, Mike Lee with 2-31 for Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds, who could only manage 59-8 in response, Sebin Sebastion 4-17 and Ebin Sebastian 2-19 for Gele.

Aneesh Pattali (47) and Salastine Paily (37) were the main providers in Bersham’s innings of 210-9, Aryaman Arora 3-10 off eight and Jeremy Scanlon 2-20 for the hosts, who were then toppled for just 83, Paily 5-22 and Salu Sebastian 3-10.
Ruthin 2nd XI (1) 117-10 Llanrwst 2nd XI (14) 204-5
Leon Doran produced a double career-best as he starred with 81 runs and took five wickets as Llanrwst seconds piled up a challenging 204-5 at Ruthin.
Aled Hughes added 50 for the visitors, Ian Goldston 3-34 for Ruthin seconds, who were then dismissed for 117, Ieuan Wynne Lewis 45, Doran a stunning 5-10 off eight to complete a magnificent all-round display, Oliver Egelstaff-Thomas 2-25.
For Doran, it was a first half-century and a debut five-wicket haul for the Rwsters.
