NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – REPORTS FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 10

Premier Division

Coedpoeth United 0 Mynydd Isa 3
All the goals came from the Isa bench as Tom Gunson (2) and Braden Lavin secured three points at Stansty Park.

CPD Gronant 4 FC Plas Madoc 1
Gronant claimed their first Premier Division win at the expense of last season’s Championship title rivals Plas Madoc.
Oliver Roberts put the visitors in front after just two minutes, but Steven Kirk and Adam Woosey bagged a brace apiece to earn the hosts maximum spoils.

Hawarden Rangers 1 Castell Alun Colts 3
Luca Nardo, Nathan Jones and Arthur Doo with a late penalty – having missed an earlier one – sealed the points for Casty, Matthew Birks striking first for Hawarden.

Rhostyllen 2 Greenfield 1
Goals from Aayron Rafferty and Tom Douglas won the day for Rhostyllen, Jack Pennington having handed Greenfield a 12th minute lead.

Saltney Town 2 Lex XI 3
Cameron Thomas (2) and Gareth Williams ensured Lex edged a narrow verdict, Ricky Wilson and Tyler Johnson providing the Bordermen’s responses.

Championship Division

Acton 9 CPD Cei Connah 3
Seb Kidd (4), Tommy Hallam (3, 1 pen) and Joe Garner (2) shared a nine-goal feast for Acton, Gavin Hughes, Arkadiusz Mikula and Scott Roberts the away marksmen.

Deeside Dragons 0 Brymbo 13
Man of the Match Sam Wall pocketed a hat-trick, while Harry Wood (2), Shane Wellings (2), Toby Hughes (2), Connor Gorman, Josh Hughes, Tom Potts and Jack Smallman all chipped in for a baker’s dozen for Brymbo.

Johnstown 3 Broughton United 10
Two goals each from Ryan Pearce, Luke Muia, Elliott Evans and Jake Jones accounted for most of Broughton’s 10, Ethan Evans and Lewis Hopwood also making the scoresheet, Johnstown hitting back through Robert Cooper (2) and captain Keneth Davies.

Rhydymwyn 12 Deeside United 1
Kyle Wilkes led the way with four goals as Rhydymwyn piled up a dozen against United.
Ryan Davies added a treble, Aaron North, Kallum Pierce, Connor Davies, Rhys Parry and Samuel Roberts one each.

Skippy 0 CPD Sychdyn United 6
Joe Robins hit three goals for Sychdyn at Bellevue Park, Jordan Walker (pen), George Williams and Matthew Jones one each.

CPD Yr Wyddgrug 5 Overton Recreational 1
Matty Tombs delivered Overton a 10th minute lead, but Yr Wyddgrug rallied strongly to win with goals from Lewis James, Romaine Halfpenny-Williams, David Jones, Sam Lloyd and Stephen Wilson.

Reserve Division Group A

Cefn Albion Reserves 1 Corwen Reserves 4
Joel Gardner (2), Callum Brady-Rainey and Liam Marshall split the away tally, Kos Jones with Albion’s sole reply.

Mynydd Isa Reserves 6 CPD Rhos Aelwyd Reserves 3
A Carwyn Davies double put Rhos two-up before Cameron Anderson replied for the hosts close to half time.
The second half was a different story. Aled Dodd’s own goal on 46 made it 2-2, Cory Pygott soon notched a third for Isa, but James Haynes hit back on the hour to level it at 3-3.
Mynydd Isa showed the greatest staying power, 17-year-old Jack Casey with a double and Jordan Foster also on the mark.

Reserve Division Group B

Brymbo Reserves 0 Penyffordd Lions Reserves 5
Lewis Dallimore, Harry Brown, Nathan Large and Brandon Jones were among the scorers for away winners Penyffordd.

Castell Alun Colts Reserves 5 Johnstown YFC Reserves 2
Robert Parcesepe was a hat-trick star for Casty, Kieran Edwards and sub Joshua Vernon bringing the home tally to five, Levi Challoner and Johnpaul Macdonald with the Johnstown responses.

Greenfield Reserves 3 Coedpoeth United Reserves 1
Corey Kennedy (2) and Ryan Jones were the net-finders for winners Greenfield, veteran captain Kevin Breeze putting Coedy on the scoreboard.

FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH EAST

Holywell Town Development 0 The New Saints Reserves 12
Joshua Davies-Sewell (4) and Thomas Blaze (3) provided more than half of Saints’ goals between them.
Jake Humphreys, Oliver Blayney and Harry Clayton added one each.

St Asaph Reserves 4 Buckley Town Reserves 2
Harry Gomez, Alfie Jones, Alex Carpenter and Charlie Weaver came up with a goal apiece for victorious St Asaph, Scott Davies and James Johnson responding for Bucks.
