Happy birthday to Flint Town United ace Jennifer Haynes!

Happy birthday to a young player who has enjoyed plenty of success in her football career so far.

Born on August 5, 2001, former Connah’s Quay High School student Jennifer Alicia Haynes had an early football association with Northop Hall.

She really began to make her mark at the age of 18 after signing for Connah’s Quay Nomads when they formed at the start of 2019-20 with Sara Hilton as head coach.

Jennifer made the perfect impact, notching a debut hat-trick in a 12-0 win over fellow newcomers Holywell. She went on to score twice in her next game – a 6-2 Welsh Cup victory at Llanberis.

The striker/winger was part of the Connah’s Quay squad which finished unbeaten runners-up in North Wales League Division Two and sensationally made the Welsh Cup semis, defeating Cymru Premier side Port Talbot in the last eight.

Their semi-final against Swansea City never went ahead due to Covid bringing a premature end to the season.

After 2020-21 was scrapped due to the pandemic, Jennifer remained with the Deesiders in 2021-22, their first season in tier 2 Genero Adran North, where they finished in third place. She made nine appearances in all competitions.

In 2022-23 she had netted six goals for the club – four first team and two under-19’s – before deciding on a new challenge at Flint in March 2023.

Livewire Jennifer featured in six games before the end of the 2022-23 season for the Silkwomen, scoring twice.

Last season she played a major part in Flint’s championship-winning campaign

All-action Jennifer was an ever-present, knocking in five goals as the Silkwomen won all 12 games to be crowned North Wales Women’s League East champions.

Her personal highlights included a hat-trick versus Denbigh Town. She also had a treble chalked off when a game was abandoned at half time.

In all, Jennifer has made 24 league and cup appearances for Flint, netting seven times.

No doubt she will be a key player in the 2024-25 season. Happy birthday Jennifer! ❤🎂
