It’s official! Bangor City Stadium will host Thursday’s Euro tie between Caernarfon Town and Legia Warsaw
Bangor City Stadium has been given the go ahead to stage this Thursday’s Uefa Conference League second qualifying round, second leg clash between Caernarfon Town and Legia Warsaw.
There had been concerns over holding the game at the former Nantporth due to safety worries.
Legia fans are banned from home and away matches in Europe following a Uefa sanction for disruptive behaviour
However, it was confirmed today that the Bangor ground can host the return leg of a tie in which Caernarfon trail 6-0 from the first instalment of a week ago.
Town performed really well behind closed doors in Poland but were undone by the superior finishing of the record 15-time Polish champions, who are ranked considerably higher than the Cymru Premier club by Uefa.
Tickets are on sale at the Carling Oval until 9 pm tonight (Monday, July 29).
The game will take place on Thursday evening, August 1, at Bangor City Stadium, kick-off 6:00pm.
Caernarfon Town said in a statement: “Following much discussion with the relevant authorities, information regarding ticket sales are thus:
“Due to the present UEFA ban on Legia Warsaw fans, we will be selling tickets to Caernarfon Town Football Club supporters only at the Carling Oval TONIGHT (Monday, July 29) from 6:30pm to 9pm.
“We will be requesting photo ID from everyone buying a ticket and will also require your phone number.
“This is to ensure that tickets are sold to our supporters only and are not re-sold. We will refuse to sell tickets to anyone who we deem to be non-Caernarfon Town supporters.”
*Please ensure, when you visit the Carling Oval to buy your ticket, that you bring the photo ID and a slip of paper with your full name, address and phone number on it.
**Please bring exact payment with you to avoid queues.
Under 18’s will NOT be able to buy a ticket without an adult accompanying them when buying the ticket and in the stadium on match day.
MAX 2 tickets per person.
Anyone not complying with the above will NOT be able to buy a ticket.
Prices are: Adult: £20 / Concession: £15 / U16: £10.
