Penblwydd hapus iawn i Magi Elin Hughes (CPDM Pwllheli)

One of the finest woman footballers to emerge from the Llŷn Peninsula celebrates a birthday today.
Born on July 11, 1998, Magi Elin Hughes is the inspirational captain of 2023-24 double North Wales Women’s League winners CPDM Pwllheli.
She led the side to the West Division title with a perfect record of 10 straight wins and also to victory in the overall North Wales League play-off final against East champions Flint Town United.

Like many of Pwllheli’s players, Magi has remained loyal to the club for a number of years.
The central-midfielder began her football days aged seven at CPD Nefyn, where she was the only girl in the side.
She went on to represent Eryri Under-16s in Welsh Schools competitions before progressing to the senior Pwllheli team.

Always renowned for her passing and ability to read a game, Magi has added goals to her repertoire in recent seasons.
In 2021-22, she netted five times in seven Genero Adran North matches.

The 2022-23 campaign saw her hit eight goals in 20 appearances in the North Wales Women’s League.
Then last season she grabbed 11 goals in 15 outings for the Pwllheli double winners.
In April 2023, Magi notched a hat-trick for Pwll in a 5-2 victory at Caernarfon Town, providing two assists in the same match. She also scored three times last season in a 9-0 win over Caernarfon.

Other notable career highlights include participating in a training session led by former Chelsea and Spain star Albert Ferrer at his most successful club Barcelona at the beginning of 2019.
Magi is one of the most valued players in the CPDM Pwllheli squad and hopefully she has many great days still to come.
Penblwydd hapus!
