Recent Celtic signing Richardson gets call-up for the full Cymru women’s squad

North Wales defenders Amy Richardson and Cadi Rodgers have earned call-ups to the full Cymru squad for next month’s European qualifiers.
The pair are in Rhian Wilkinson’s 26-player squad for EURO 2025 qualifying group clashes away to Croatia in Karlovac (Friday 12 July) and against Kosovo at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli (Tuesday 16 July).
Richardson, 18, from Penrhyn Bay, recently signed for Celtic, while Rodgers, 16, represents FAW Girls Academy North.
Formerly with Everton’s academy and Liverpool Feds. Richardson has become a key defender for the Wales Under-19 side and represented the Under-15, U16 and U17 national teams.
A regular for Wales in their Uefa European Women’s Under 17 Championship this year, Rodgers’ talents developed at CPDI Bro Dysynni, Tywyn and CPD Porthmadog.
Both players have represented the Cymru age group teams in the last 12 months.
Wilkinson has an almost full-strength squad to choose from, however Josie Green misses out with the same injury that ruled her out of the matches in June.
Five uncapped players have been named in the squad.
Manchester United defender Mayzee Davies has been included again, as has midfield talent Mared Griffiths, who was called up to the full Cymru women’s squad for Euro qualifying games against Croatia and Kosovo recently.
The 17-year-old from Trawsfynydd, a student at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor’s Dolgellau campus, is a Wales Under-17 and Under-19 cap.

With a play-off place already confirmed, two wins in the final matches will secure first position in the qualifying round group and guarantee a seeded berth for the play-off semi-finals.
The draw for the play-offs route (two leg semi-finals and two leg final) takes place on Friday 19 July with more information on the process available on the UEFA website.
Cymru played both their next opponents at the start of the campaign in April, with impressive 4-0 and 6-0 wins against Croatia in Wrexham and Kosovo in Podujevo. Croatia currently top the group with Cymru one point behind, whilst Kosovo are bottom.
Tickets for the Kosovo match in Llanelli on Tuesday 16 July (KO 6:00pm) are available to purchase on the FAW ticketing website, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with discounts available for Red Wall members.
